E-mail of happiness from my brother
As some of you know, my brother is the lead designer of Star Wars Galaxies at Sony Online Entertainment and I went to visit him in Austin. While visiting his office, I got to meat many of the faces (or screens, technically) behind SOE's gaming world. We are both avid gamers. Here is the email I got (somewhat edited):
Howdy!
Ellen our office manager is moving over to the Prodcution side of the team and wanted to know if you were still looking for a job. I was like "Yah she really doesnt have a career path mapped out yet, but Im sure she will take a shot at anything." So it would behoove you to email a resume and letter tonight. Look up what an office manager does and have a sharp cover letter, I would upsell gaming things about you since you have no experience, like "is a serious gamer" and "would fit in with the environment of a bunch of gamers", etc etc. I know there is some competition for the spot, however I think you should take a shot at it and see if they want to go for the youth cheapness gaming factor.
I'll make sure to call tonight in case you dont check your email and in case you have any questions.

So I just sent in my application (my brother wasn't aware of my office experience) and he'll be pestering the woman tomorrow. Everyone hope for the best! I'm not too confident I'll get the job, but the fact that my brother is the head honcho of the designing team, in addition to the woman in charge of hiring actually remembering me, should prove to be fortunate. Don't wanna get my hopes up.... Don't wanna get my hopes up....

Oh, and I should be moving into my Buffalo house on Monday and I get to start my Sephora job on Sunday. Woopty doo.
