Bad news... and what's this? More bad news!
So I'm just having a really bad day.
I just got back from a wonderful stint in Austin with my brother where we reconnected for the first time in years. I went through great lengths to keep my Peace Corps recruiter happy by getting him exactly what he wanted, despite his constant re-specifying what that was. First my references were the wrong kind (uh, what?). Then I had to go down to their HQ to get my fingerprints done properly (though apparently they're too smudged and must be redone). And now my transcript isn't appropriate because it doesn't cite my degree or date of graduation (wtf?). They're torturing me so I can spend 2 years in an icky country while teaching English to brats.
My arrival in sunny Jerez was horribly polluted by my suitcase having been sent to Colombia instead of Madrid. I wonder what objects will be decorating the lining as soon as I get it back.
My cat Baby, a veteran from life in Naples, died the day before. The dog we adopted after my grandmother's death, Darwin, also died.
And I just found out that I got rejected by the Albright-Knox internship.
Way to go, life. I was starting to have faith in you...
Now I'm terrified to apply to UCL in case my streak of bad luck continues. Hell, maybe I'll even get drafted this week and the Republicans will get re-elected.
