Hey guys, it's Tuesday and you know what that means?
SUPERNATURAL TIME \0/
The results from last week's poll were surprisingly positive. 90% of you said the episode was great! Does that mean the season is improving for some, or just going downhill? I guess we'll see over the course of a few weeks how the poll swings.
So let's see how well you all liked (and or hated) this episode.
Poll I'm no Angel *DISCLAIMER* While I encourage differing opinions and discussion, I however, do NOT allow all out character bashing or hate. This is a completely intellectual zone where fans can engage in conversation over the new season. I'm not saying we can't disagree or be mad at certain characters. However, I assume since we are all adults we can discuss in a mature manner and not stoop as low to character bash on a review.
So, unfortunately if you comment on my review with character bashing you will be banned from commentating. I don't want to see your wank and neither do my friends who come and read my review and comments. I won't deal with it and I shouldn't have too.
Let me start off by saying that I am forever curious about Ezekiel. I am thrilled that supernatural has got back it's suspense and mystery surrounding whether a character is good or evil. I just can't tell. I'm on the fence half of the time. Ezekiel is popping up more and more, and to me, it seems like he's abusing the power he has over Dean at the moment? Maybe I am reading it wrong but everything Ezekiel has done in this episode has just been bizarre to me. To random to seem like it's genuine care.
So, how about it, Is Ezekiel good or evil, what is his game plan here?
Other than that the episode was pretty bleak of anything new or exciting. It was simply an episode that was Castiel centric to explain his current journey and merge his storyline with Sam and Dean's. I will note is was fascinating hearing Castiel's viewpoint on humans and humanity in general. Given he has been the one and only angel to really not connect with humanity like his brethren. This also begs to question, since Castiel is a human does this make him Jimmy? Does he have Jimmy's memories/personality? Or is Jimmy gone and Castiel is a 'new' human like a rebirth sort of?
Bartholomew (tries not to laugh but fails) is the new big bad? Meh....doesn't seem appealing not like Abaddon for the demon side. He reeks of trying to be like Dick Roman but no one is like Dick Roman I'm sorry. He was one of a kind. I guess we'll have to see where this goes. I mean the angels forming like a faction to element Cas is somewhat cool....I guess it's just kind of repetitive? I mean angels have been trying to kill Cas for a long time now. It's no surprise they all hate him.
I guess I was expecting a bit more for Season 9 but it really is WAY to early to tell anything.
Was it any surprise that Dean choose Sam? Not really. At least if you've payed attention to the last 8 years of the show it wasn't. Cas looked heartbroken and it only kind of makes me angry at how far this lie is going and how SHITTY of a job Dean is doing trying to cover up the lie. I'm sorry but Dean's a shit liar when he's lying to family. It shouldn't take long before Sam or Cas put two and two together (I hope not at least)
Was I the only one smiling when Cas uttered Sam's name? Hee....I was hoping to maybe see a scene where Cas is concerned because he's FELT and EXPERIENCED pain and suffering. Or maybe have a scene later on when Cas sort of connects the pain he suffered to what Sam and Dean have been suffering for so long. I think it'd be enlightening for him.
It looks like a humorous episode next week so we get a break from the seriousness. However, it seems highly corny but I shall have faith that it'll actually be funny and not turn into something overly corny. I mean we get enough of that in the show as it is (corny angst moments are getting old that's for sure)
I guess we'll have to play it week by week. However, something I do notice is the reaction to this season has been 10 times more positive than S6 and S8 when they first began. So that's something.
