Here it is, my first post from my brand spanking new computer! Yay!!!!! Many thanks to Alicia for giving me info on her computer and a ginourmous hurrah to Corlin for trekking to the store and helping me wade through computer options. If it weren't for him, I probably would have come home with a billion dollar computer or something. Note to Corlin ( Read more... )

I got your message...but I was in class.

I'm sure whatever you got will "work" fine. hehehe You'd be really hard pressed to find a computer that doesn't work fine. Most brands are pretty good. And as long as you use it for years it's a good investment whether you got a slightly cheaper or more expensive one doesn't matter. I'm a little obsessed with finding the absolute number one deal out there...which I did with this computer. But I realize most people aren't as obsessive as me. And there isn't anything wrong with it.

Yeah, it was more of a situation where I absolutely needed a computer that instant. I know it kind of sounds sketchy--I've gotten this far without one. But I literally will not graduate if
a.) I hadn't pulled an all nighter last nigh
b.) I don't pull an all nighter one more night this week.

And seeing as how the library closes, my roommates who do have computers also pull all nighters, and they actually need to use their computers, this honestly was out of necessity. So yeah, moral of the story is that I was willing to relax my usual rule of finding the best deal and pay a little extra for immediate use of said computer.

Okay, back to my paper.

PS- For anyone who cares, I finished my senior sem paper! Revisions here I come! Unless my prof hates it, which is a distinct possiblity, in which case so long as she doesn't fail me, I don't really care.

You're such a dork. Chill, stop explaining. I wasn't being snide...I was just making fun of myself for needing to find the best deals. There's nothing wrong with not doing that...I am, in fact, the only person I know who puts so much time into it and it's not always even worth it. It doesn't matter why you bought one or when or how much it cost. Everything is worth buying if it gets used. Lap tops get used a whole lot...especially by students. They're as much a necessity as having a car these days. Even after you graduate. They're a good investment whatever the reason or timing. You'll probably use it most days of the week. Devide every day you use it by what you paid and I'll bet you it'll work out to be cheaper than most other things people buy regularly.
