Driving 8 hours to tailgate in the middle of nowhere

5 a.m. is a time I don't see often -- okay, ever -- anymore, but tomorrow I'm going to great that atrocious hour to hop into a car and head to Alabama to see USF obliterate Auburn in the biggest upset since we smashed Louisville last season (or the season before? I can't quite remember). I really hope that the Tigers don't trounce us completely. I'd love to win, but I could be content with coming neck-and-neck with them.

Since Nate's frat brothers insist on tailgating for what? 8 hours before the game (seriously -- the game doesn't start til 8 p.m. -- why in the effing eff are we leaving at FIVE in the morning?!), I decided to play travel agent and find a few hot restaurants/local haunts/tacky tourist traps in Auburn.

After many a Google search, here's what I found:
1- Visit Auburn University
2- See a football game
3- Visit the bar to watch an Auburn football game
4- Look at the historic buildings within Auburn University

Lame. Lame. Lame. I thought maybe this podunky town could redeem itself by being located somewhere within driving distance of Paula Deen's restaurant, but sadly USF is closer to Auburn than Savannah, Ga.

Oh well. At least Steak & Shake is bringing back their Halloween milkshakes (screw antibiotics; I'm convinced the S'mores milkshake is the only reason why I survived my Mono/Bacterial infection double-whammy o' death). What can I say? I'm easy to please.
