Being busy is infectious. Today was my first break of the semester (I had from 12:30 to 5 off without any obligations), and I just couldn't relax. I felt far too sluggish and disgusting to just sit and watch TV, so I spent my time visiting Gray's to see if the new AP stylebooks were in (they weren't), calling contacts to make sure my letters of recommendation were going to be shipped to FSPA by Friday, checking my e-mail, making a massive lunch (since I rarely prepare my own complete meals anymore), and vigorously scrubbing my oh-so-disgusting kitchen until it glittered (I don't know how my apartment managed to dirty nearly every dish in our place within three days -- not to mention the lovely spaghetti-sauce-and-pancake-batter spackle on our oven, countertops and linoleum! Yuck.). Right now, as a matter of fact, I'm carefully typing away as my nail polish dries.
This compulsion to multitask at all times seems a bit Stepfordish, but oddly I enjoy it. Ahhh -- more to come, but I need to whip up some PB&J to bring to the Oracle tonight and miraculously manage to turn back time so it appears like I left my place 5 minutes ago. Whoops.
Cheerio, dahlings!
