Okay I know it's kinda weird to suddenly put a Sims 3 Legacy here in my personal journal but this is for my record purposes since I do not intend (as of now) to post this on legacy communities. I am quite a newbie with this so I do not think it's fair for people to bear with my amateur skills of legacy-writing.
So this is the Kallen Legacy!
I forgot to take closeup pictures of my Sims but only snippets of their lives. So it's not like a normal kind of legacy where you start at the very beginning. For the Kallen Legacy, you go straight into the person's lives, where you get a taste of how it's like for the Kallen's.
Sylvia Kallen, a young girl of 18, moves into Riverview, unsure of what she wants of her life except to be rich. She moves into a humble home, furnished with the very basic needs.
Sylvia's traits are frugal, easily impressed, daredevil, friendly. She's a computer-whiz at heart.
When free she loves clipping coupons, making friends, switching off lights/radio to save electricity, do extreme things and play computer games (extremely, of course!). Oh and she's constantly thinking about money. Her life time achievement is to have at least 50k simoleons.
When she was at the park, she met, made friends with and fell in love with Sherman Bagley.
Sherman Bagley, 18, lives with Riverview and is considerably rich. He drives a Margaret Vaguester.
His traits are coward, good, neat, lucky and also friendly. In Sylvia's house he's constantly picking up her mess. Making her bed, cleaning her toilets, taking out the trash, cleaning the dishes... everything got to do with house chores, he's got it covered.
He was always over at her place because he wasn't close with his sister Rhoda or wasn't really on good terms with his Ma. At first, she took him in cos he was her one and only friend in Riverview. They engaged in the occasional woo-hoo since both were single. They were Friends with Benefits for 2 months before she realized they forgot to use contraception (they're hot-blooded young adults!) in one (or two) of the woohoos and thus got pregnant.
She announced her pregnancy to him and to her surprise he was pleased to hear it. "Your place is my sanctuary, your heart is my home." he told her, mystically. "I had to tie you down. Being just friends isn't enough." Deep down she was also glad to hear it but she was disappointed that he didn't confess his attraction to her. He told her after that was that he was insecure about her feelings since she was so beautiful she deserves someone better. Silly Sherman!
Eventually Sylvia gave birth to a boy who she named Ryan. Sherman wasn't around when she went into labour but he quickly went after her after he received a call from the hospital. Ryan was born with the athletic, excitable (later, lucky) trait. Both traits are somewhat derived from the mother.
This is Sherman and Sylvia on the night that Ryan was conceived.
Sherman's staring into Sylvia - while she's just spacing out, clearly not as into it as Sherman.
After the birth of her baby boy, Sherman was constantly over at her place. Half of his things are there already, but he hasn't officially moved or was even married to her because Sylvia never asked. He was always dropping hints but Sylvia was too busy with her son to notice. I know, Sherman should be doing the proposing right? Why wait for Sylvia to do it? Cos Sherman's a coward! (no kidding!) His fear for rejection is even greater than the courage to ask - he is unable to bear with the possibility of being rejected.
3 years later - Ryan's all grown up - cute toddler and all. Sylvia's back to work, developing good relationship with her boss/neighbour Shirley Lin, taking good hold of opportunities and has a fantastic babysitter. Sherman's in the police career (he quit the military - wasn't what he wanted anyway), building the body for it and has gone round questioning people about suspects - they avoid him like the plague when they see him now. He rarely goes over to Sylvia's place now because she told him she needed some time off to raise Ryan. Sherman was heartbroken that she didn't even bother to ask him to help. He was the father after all.
Sylvia: When in doubt of what else to talk -- gossip! Gossiping's is the best way to start a conversation. Believe me, I made friends with your daddy that way.
Ryan: Goh-sip. Momma!
Sylvia: Also, when you have nothing else to do with a girl. Go to to the movies with her! Make sure it's a horror movie. Girls love to cuddle with their men in horror movies. If you want to get married in the future, make sure you do that.
Ryan: Mah-reed!
When Sylvia gets to work, the babysitter takes over. Eventually she was struggling to keep up with babysitter fees, home maintenance fees with her meagre pay because of her spending too much time raising a kid by her own and not putting much effort into work - hence no raise, no promotion. (She tried asking Shirley a few times (since they're both neighbours as well) but Shirley wasn't very forgiving - the bitch.)
The babysitter. Nadia-or something. Takes good care of Ryan but once she left him crying. After that Sylvia fired her using that excuse but mainly cos she couldn't keep up with the costs. Ryan was quite sad after that because besides the training his mum gave him, all his other time was spent with the babysitter.
Later Sylvia realized that if she married Sherman, he would bring in additional income and possibly take care of Ryan as well. With this in mind (with love as a secondary reason), she called him up and proposed to him. He happily accepted - he's been waiting for so long.
The first night they were back together, he stayed over and they had countless woohoos. This was also the night that Sylvia conceived her second son, Hayden. (yup, that's right, she's so fertile.)
After she realized she was pregnant, she silently cursed herself for being so careless. Sherman's over the moon, "I love babies, darling. Especially your babies." but she was already calculating the costs needed to raise another child. She needed to get married to him soon. They got married very soon after that, before the baby bump was noticeable.
They had the wedding at Park Plaza with a few of their closest friends. Sylvia didn't want to wear white so Sherman gave up the conventional wedding tuxedo and wore something that would match his wife's. WIFE. OMG, they are getting married. FINALLY.
Even Sherman couldn't believe his eyes. He's finally attached to the girl of his dreams.
After they were married, Sherman moved in with Sylvia. And to Sylvia's dismay, he only brought in 10k simoleons and dusty old car. What happened to the Margaret Vaguester? He always drove that when he came over to her place! "Well, that was my mum's car." He admitted. Annoyed, Sylvia didn't give further comment. Although she loved him, she couldn't tolerate dishonesty. And that, was blatant dishonesty! She really thought her husband was rich, but not so now.
Not long after, Sherman and Sylvia's second son was born. His name's Hayden. This time, Sherman was around when Sylvia went into labour and promptly sent her to the hospital. They never had much faith in home births.
Sylvia and Sherman celebrating Hayden's birthday to childhood. I missed the baby and toddler part.
Hayden was born brave and neurotic. What a wonderful combination. Brave was inherited from Sylvia and neurotic's probably a bad combination of both the mum and dad. Later, he developed the good trait. Hayden's more like of his father than Ryan.
