working in retail & the holidays
Another day of work has gone by and I have never wanted to the holidays to be over with so bad. Don't get me wrong, I totally love Christmas but working in retail during the holidays puts everything into a new perspective. Why is it that you get every bitch, pain in the ass, and annoying customer around Christmas? Seriously...we already have sooo much to deal with and then you have a customer who comes in and just is plain stupid, rude, or both. I totally love my job, I just despise the ignorant, selfish people that come into it. You would think that around Christmas people would be extra kind, patient,and friendly but that is never the case. I never take their attitudes or rude behavior personally. I just think it ironic that the same person who will be sitting in Church during their Christmas Eve Service appearing to be so religious is the same person who cussed out one of the sales clerks in our store. The point I'm trying to make is simply that people should show more kindess and respect during this time of the year because I highly doubt half of the people who shop in our store could survive one day of what we have to deal with and go through during the holidays. A person who shows a lack of respect should never be allowed to shop until they have worked in retail over the holidays. Just remember that and try to understand just exactly what we have to put up with. Happy Holidays lol :) -Cat
