Ding Dong Avon calling

I've been playing around on the Avon website, and have found a lot of cool things. They have tons of samples that you can order. For $1 you can get 10 fragrance samples. They also have lipstick samples, foundation samples, and much more. I'm really excited about that. I plan to purchase a bunch, and give a sample away with every order. They also have cheap items that I can give away as prizes at my parties. Such as the mini lotions, the lip balms & more. I posted a question on one of the yahoo groups that I'm on about parties. I haven't seen anything showing what to give for hostess credits at parties. My sponsor, Joyce, says she gives 20%. I don't know if that's the norm or not. I also want to find out what the average party sales are, so I can determine my gifts. With Pure Romance I offer different things at different sales levels. I'll probably do that with Avon too. I did start a hostess rewards sheet last night. I'll adjust it as needed.

The Avon website has a ton of information. They have online "classes" that you can take to learn more about selling Avon. Unfortunately, I am still on dial-up. I don't have that problem at work, but there isn't a headphone jack on my speakers. Being customer service, I really don't want to have the volume up loud enough so I can hear it. So, I broke down & ordered the CD-ROM, for a whole $4. Then I can take the tests online, and earn the title "Beauty Advisor." Woo hoo. You should all be excited for me.

Something that is exciting... I may already have 2 recruits. As of today, I have officially been an Avon Representative for a week, and I may already have 2 recruits. That is awesome! I've been with Pure Romance for a year, and haven't signed up anyone yet. And I think that Joyce is going to sign up under me for Cello in a Box. That would just be too cool. She would be my sponsor for Avon, and I would be her sponsor for Cello in a Box. Too funny!

I have learned one thing that I kind of don't like. Avon has 4 districts in the U.S. Each has its own warehouse. So that means sometimes your district might run out of something, but another district still has it. That just sucks! On the plus side though, we don't have to pay outrageous shipping charges. And we don't have customers complaining about a $5 shipping charge when we have the stuff in stock. We don't carry inventory, and each customer is only charged 75 cents. I also learned that if someone wants direct delivery, Avon only charges $3. That is awesome. I have to say, I'm starting to really like Avon.
