I attended a reason 6 workshop on sat night, and one of only few workshops I've attended. I really enjoyed what the lecturer had to share, it finally hit me, that I need to get Reason 6! Since I am stuck on version 4. But I also learned... I guess through conversation, that music is more enjoyable when it is not a full time job.

I also jammed (properly) on drums for the first time, it was actually the third time I sat behind a drum kit, but I am too pussy to upload the video here because it sucks. But playing on the drum kit for the first time, understanding a little bit of how drumming works, was one the most emancipating experiences in a long time. I was quite surprised I could easily coordinate my 2 hands and 2 feet. I've always programmed drum beats on midi based interfaces/software. But after playing the real thing... since then, every night I've been text-ting my friend "hey you wanna jam?"

When I was young I listened to a lot of Rock, back then my mother got me my first guitar. I started to learn songs on my own. But for some reason I could never appreciate drumming, or rather I never paid that much attention to drumming. Now every time I hear music or old tunes I pay very close attention to the drumming.

I often wonder what is it about drumming that resonates in me so much these days. There wasn't anything that really triggered off this new interest. I suppose it probably has to do with the fact that at work, I use a Maschine to do on the fly beats and sequencing.  But then again when I first started it, I was looking at it from a DJ / Producer perspective. I never thought of live drumming, but I guess gradually did.
Now I have so many ideas in my head, if I have a track on Reason, I could replace the drum samples, with actual drum recordings.

drums, music, art so-called, djing, my music, memories
