Was kind of anxious awaiting the results of the
GE. Now, I actually am disappointed, it seemed like this was the revolution or never. but at least history was made. 40% of Singaporeans voted against the ruling party, but despite that out of the 87 seats in parliament only 6 seats have gone to opposition. Excluding the 3 NCMPs (Non-Constituency Members of Parliament) losing with the highest number of votes against opposition. This is a clear indicator that more people here want change. I was mostly apathetic about Singapore politics until more recent events. But I made the mistake of having a higher expectation for the opposition. I guess I over-estimated the power of social media. The way many others put it, the funny thing being in the voting sheet, if you were to draw a middle finger on the box that represents the party logo you are against, it would still constitute a vote for that party. And it's also kind of confusing because you are to mark "X" on the box of your preferred party. I think some may have mistaken this as "Writing off" or saying NO the party they dislike.
Last I checked...... NOW PAPA LEE HOPES TO BRING ANOTHER 900 000 thousands foreigners to Singapore. Fuck. I am very disappointed because I kind of fall under that category, where foreigners and locals fight for the same rice bowl. And these foreigners are part of the sudden influx of foreigners that have annoyed many Singaporeans.
Sure they have always been around. In Construction and the Hotel Industry for example, they kept to themselves, and NO ONE WAS COMPLAINING this MUCH, but now they're everywhere and I swear it's fucking annoying. Because most of the foreign talent that they bring in do not create more jobs for Singaporeans. I cannot blame them, I blame the fucked up system!!!!! and I totally agree with that quote I read somewhere that "people get the goverment they deserve"
It bothers me that the most apathetic people are the filthily rich or ill informed. I see this in all my Filthily Rich Friends I've known. I have relatives in the Civil Service who've got all the benefits of free medicare for life. Even my (insert my relative) gets to be in 1st class ward for donkey years. But most of them can see the bigger picture, they voted for the opposition. People here suck. If you are filthily rich person earning 15k a month or more, what real moral concern do you have with the lower and middle income?
If you are not involve in politics there's no real reason to be bothered. You get to meet filthily rich who donate 100 000 sgd, but in actuality these people lack one very important thing, they don't have harbor any "personal feelings" for those "who've fallen through the cracks"
There were only 2 people that moved me deeply prior to polling day. the two were george yeo and nicole seah. A lot of people have felt their sincerity, because they spoke from their hearts. And George Yeo is/was the ruling party's most popular minister. Maybe here's why, you can argue that people can put on fronts when they promote themselves but I sincerely feel that George loves the people and our country, unlike Dr Vivian Balakrishnan.

Dear George My Heart goes out to your and family. It's sad you have decided to leave politics. I just wish the rest of the PAP scumbags will learn true graciousness and humility as a leader from you.
