Chapter 65:
“I…” Kazuya was cut off by his boyfriend.
“Like what I have just said. I’m going to repeat again, we’re getting married.” Jin repeated patiently, emphasizing each word cautiously but with slight annoyance lacing with it. His hand had not left Kazuya’s. “But now, I need to add more. We are still getting married no matter who or what’s going to stop us.”
“Who’s going to stop you?” Mrs. Akanishi blurted out inadvertently, or rather more like an automatic question.
Jin and Kazuya scanned rigidly at the people surrounding them.
What’s going on?
“A-anyone?” Kazuya murmured timidly while swiping his tentative gaze around their friends and families.
“Who!? No one is stopping you from getting married, Kazuya!” Kazuya’s mother yelled out way too excitedly.
Now, this was weird. What the hell was going on? Jin and Kazuya looked confusedly at their friends despite the fact that they’re returning the same kind of baffled gaze. Everyone was mystified by the entire scene as well.
Now what? Are they allowed to get married, or not?
“What do you mean?” Jin solicited in an eerie composure, directing his gaze at Mr. Kamenashi then at his own father.
Mr. Akanishi passed the chance of explanation to Mr. Kamenashi gentlemanly. He nodded his head and gestured for the senior Kamenashi to start talking.
“What are you saying, Jin?” Mr. Kamenashi started. “We are definitely not objecting and we will never object. Am I right, Mr. Akanishi?”
Jin’s father nodded his head acutely once to see eye to eye with him.
“If any of us is going to voice any objection, we would have done that long time ago, especially when we knew you two have gotten together.” Mr. Akanishi interjected with Keita and Yamapi murmuring a soft ‘yeah’.
“Kazuya…” Mr. Kamenashi called out to his own son. “We’re happy when we knew of your relationship with Jin because you’ve finally found someone you love and who loves you equally in return. Your mother and I got ecstatic when we knew how well your relationship was progressing. However, we began to get anxious when we see how bad your relationship has gotten into gradually and eventually till the two of you broke off.”
“Jin,” Kazuya’s father turned to him seeking for attention. “To be frank, Kazuya’s mother and I were devastated when we saw how Kazuya broke down during those days when he wept in sorrow and despair after he had lost you. To us, it was certainly heart-breaking.”
Just when Jin wanted to interject something, Mr. Kamenashi added on. “Although I know you must have been feeling the same like Kazuya too. So I’m very sure that your parents had felt the same like I did, right?” Mr. Kamenashi turned to the Akanishi old couple who nodded in agreement. “Even Keita and Tomohisa and all your friends here, I’m sure they felt hopeless when all they could do were to look at the both of you, living in grief but couldn’t do anything to help. They couldn’t do anything to help at all. We couldn’t do anything to help because it’s a relationship problem. It’s only a problem which either you or Kazuya could solve.”
“You get it?” Mr. Akanishi asked his son compassionately.
Jin nodded gravely.
“We couldn’t do much, they couldn’t do much either too, which was why Mr. Kamenashi called us and sought for our help.” Mr. Akanishi said.
“What help?” Kazuya couldn’t help but to enquire intriguingly.
“Helping to kidnap the both of you and threw you onto that island to make up. As simple as that.” Keita spoke up for everyone to hear and understood.
“EH!?” Jin and Kazuya exclaimed in unison.
“So meaning the four of you plus those two idiots over there,” Jin pointed sharply at Keita and Yamapi who smiled at them sheepishly, “came up with this brilliant plan of yours to force us to make up?”
“Good planning, wasn’t it?” Mr. Kamenashi smiled smugly, oblivious to Jin and Kazuya’s narrowing hawk eyes. “And we did not force. You did it willingly.” He emphasized his denial point.
Jin narrowed his eyes at him and huffed out indignantly. “As if we were being mugged by your guards was called willingly.”
“So… I presumed you,” Kazuya pointed his finger at his father accusingly, “were the mastermind then?”
“Of course, it’s me, your intelligent father.” Mr. Kamenashi declared arrogantly. Kazuya palmed his face in defeat and sighed. Jin patted him on his shoulder, comforting him knowingly in a certain sense which meant Jin empathize his reaction as well.
“I knew it… Mr. Akanishi wouldn’t think and did silly things like this.” Kazuya mumbled lowly.
“Kazuya. What did you just say?” His father addressed him sternly. “I did this for your own good.”
“I know.” Kazuya huffed. “Just… just that you should have let things take its place naturally…”
“Well, if I did that, there wouldn’t be any joyous celebration implying a wedding to happen in the near future now, am I right to say that?” His father countered mockingly.
Kazuya sighed for the umpteenth time. He chose to remain quiet because he knew his father had pointed out… a fact. Without this so-called brilliant kidnapping plan of his father’s, without their parents’ help, without Keita and Yamapi’s help, yes, probably nothing great like this would have happened. Without them, things wouldn’t have went by so smoothly and not to mention that they would have patched up by now and even intended to bring their relationship to a higher level - get married to one another.
He looked up at Jin who returned him a brilliant smile and made him forgot about everything else. At this moment, nothing mattered anymore. Not even the truth, because they no longer needed it. They only needed one another, only they themselves matter the most in each other’s heart now.
“So anyway, when’s the big date?” Ueda asked, successfully putting a stop to the previous topic.
“Hmm… not sure yet. But Kazu and I have thought of setting it on Valentine’s Day.” Jin answered.
“Oh! That’s cool!” Koki exclaimed. “Double sweetness!”
“But what about the preparations? Wouldn’t it be hasty since it’s already reaching the end of November now?” Nakamaru inquired, feeling worried. “Enough time to get the venue booked and all?”
“Don’t worry. Nothing much is needed to be prepared actually. The most important thing is… the needed persons are already ready for it.” Jin smirked at Kazuya. “I have already gotten Kazuya’s ‘yes’ so that was sufficient.”
“So we just need to hold a more formal commemoration that’s all.”
“You don’t intend to invite any other people to the celebration?” Jin’s mother probed. “Like business partners?”
Kazuya looked at Jin for his suggestions with big bubbly eyes. “We know that our relationship is open to our families and a few close friends. Everyone here supports us and encourages us to be together. However, we can’t be sure that others will think the same. We can’t guarantee that the others will react the same way as everyone here. We do not want to risk Kamenashi’s businesses and their reputation in the society. Hence, this marriage will only be made known to our supporting families and close, trustable friends.” Jin elucidated clearly.
“But you and Kame-chan can always fly over to either one of the countries that legalize this kind of special marriage.” Ueda insinuated helpfully.
“Yeah we know. I have actually considered Canada or Spain before. But…” Jin cast a look at his boyfriend beside him. “I think it’s sufficient for us to just have everyone acknowledged that fact. We need not that piece of legalized paper to prove to everyone that we are happy and want to be together forever. We can always choose to keep it in our hearts.”
“Are you sure?” Mr. Kamenashi asked meticulously. “I do think that it’s better to have your marriage legalized though.”
“Well…” Jin hesitated and Kazuya noticed it. Jin knew Mr. Kamenashi’s intention and he knew that the older man meant well, but… there’s just something he didn’t want to risk. Seeing Jin keeping quiet, Kazuya decided to answer for him. “I think it’s alright for us to just hold a private commemoration in Japan first. I don’t mind. If we wish, we can always go over to Canada or Spain for the legalization afterwards. Time isn’t a factor for us.”
Jin squeezed Kazuya’s hand in his tightly. “Kazu, I don’t mean it. I don’t mean to… Don’t misunderstand me… You know, I want to get married with you. Just that…”
Before Jin could finish his sentence, Kazuya butted in gently. “I understand, Jin. Don’t worry. I know you are pressurized by the ultimate stress that outsiders may not understand us and hence, disrespect us and may in turn ruin our family’s reputation and all, thus, you are hesitating whether to legalize our marriage. Your welfare is on our family business. I understand all of these and I won’t complain. I totally understand it.” Kazuya reassured Jin comfortingly and caressed their entwined hands lovingly, trying to transmit more courage to Jin.
Jin pulled Kazuya into a hug tightly and whispered into his ear thankfully. “Thank you, Kazu. Thank you for your understanding.” Jin heaved a relief sigh. He didn’t want Kazuya or anyone to misunderstand his intention but he didn’t know how to express himself clearly.
“Jin, you must know that I’m not forcing you to make the decision now. I am just merely giving you my suggestion. So when you feel that you are ready for it, you can go for it anytime. Like what Kazuya has said, it’s not of a hurry anyway.” Mr. Kamenashi clarified. He got a feeling that Jin had misunderstood him.
Jin broke off the hug. “I will. Thank you for your understanding as well.” Jin then turned back to Kazuya again. “I think… we are already strongly bonded together in our hearts. Marriage and the piece of certificate are just additional pieces of evidence to remind us of our love. Do you agree with me, Kazu?”
Kazuya smiled dearly, eyes shooting out sparks of blissful love, having the same opinion with him. “Hn.”
“So don’t stress yourself over this kind of trivial thing ne, Jin honey?”
Jin broke into a smile.
“Okay, then everything is settled~” Keita concluded and their friends clapped merrily while their parents smiled earnestly.
“Yeah. We will update everyone again when all the details and information are confirmed.” Jin summarized.
“Okay, now, let’s celebrate this joyous moment with the newly-wed couple~” Keita chimed happily to everyone.
“Yayyyyy~”

Later that night…
“Jin, what are you scribbling over there?” Kazuya climbed onto their shared bed and peeked at what Jin was busy writing about.
“Hmm…” Jin tried his best to answer but he didn’t want to get distracted as many ideas and phrases had been popping out in his brain so he needed to jot those down before he lost them. In simple words, he couldn’t multi-task. So he chose to focus on jotting words down in his book than answering Kazuya, which caused discontentment to his soon-to-be husband.
“Jin…” Kazuya began to whine impatiently. He didn’t like to be ignored, especially not by Jin. He didn’t like the feeling of not knowing anything at all. “Jin…”
“Kazu… give… me a while… more.” Jin trailed out in the midst of scribbling down messy words.
Kazuya obediently kept quiet and made himself comfortable beside Jin on the bed. After Jin was done writing down several phrases, he gave out a victorious chuckle and stretched his body languidly. “Done.”
“So, can you finally tell me what were you busy writing just now?” Kazuya’s voice got a bit colder than he intended to yet curiosity was still evident in his voice.
“I’m sorry, Kazu. Don’t be angry with me… Here.” Jin coaxed and pulled Kazuya to lean more onto his upper body.
“I was actually trying to compose lyrics.”
Kazuya took over the book Jin’s holding on to and began to read through the scribbled words. “For what?”
“Hmm… remembered you were telling me just now before your parents left, that you felt appreciated after what our parents had done for us?”
“Hn.”
“They brought us back together and made us realize the importance of our love, our bond.” Kazuya responded, fingers fiddling with Jin’s hand now.
“Yup, that. So I was thinking of a way to show them our gratitude.” Jin pecked Kazuya on his left temple.
“So you thought of writing them a song?”
“Yup, a dedication for them.”
“Hmm…” Kazuya hummed in agreement and they made a move to lay down on the bed in comfortable silence.
“Kazu…” Suddenly, Kazuya thought that Jin’s voice sounded huskier.
“Hmm?”
“I… want you.”
Kazuya twisted his head sharply towards Jin in a swift move, a deep shade of crimson creeping onto his cheeks. He smiled coyly. “I… want Jin too. I missed you.”
Jin smirked upon hearing that and hovered over the smaller man in a lightning speed. Evil, horny thoughts were evident from his expression.
“Then… shall we end this joyous night with memorable love-making sessions?”
My lover, my boyfriend, my soulmate, are you an angel or devil?
~*~
The ‘thank you’ that you gave me at the end will become the hope that connects us with tomorrow.
