I Left My Heart in Arsolesso di Groppo Visdomo

Well, or maybe I will when I find out where it is.  I had a one and one-half hour conversation with my cousin Renee last night about finding our potential Italian relatives when I go to Italy this May.  We've got names and towns and connections but we don't have any real communication, and that is going to be my part of the adventure.  We've got Schiavi, and Gallinari or Galinari and Vidini and Boiardi (which is actually the original spelling of Boy-ar-dee, as in the Chef -- perhaps we're related!)  However we have one address of someone born in 1941 who may actually still be alive, so we begin there, and hope for the best.  Jenn may actually be able to join us, which would make it a nice, multi-generational opportunity.

Have decided to do a daily food and wine report, just because.  So:  last night's wine, a 2001 Torre Sangiovese di Romagna Riserva.  And dinner for tonight:  Roast Chicken with Carrots, braised spinach, mashed potatoes, salad.  The wine report will always be a day late because I don't usually decide until I'm ready to open the bottle.

Third grade tour at the Museum this morning.  It seems so quiet there, post-Monet.  Despite the WSJ's report of it being "small and spotty" the exhibit was good and a milestone for the NCMA.   It will be very hard for them to ever top this one.  At least the new building and the Rodin collection will be a regular draw -- until it gets old.
