eight ways to win my heart in a relationship

Nov 26, 2010 15:12

Oops! This entry is lag max. Anyway, Econs paper was such a bitch that I actually burst into tears twice, once when I was talking to Mummy and the other when I was talking to Papa. Zzz I'm just very easily traumatized by exams and the like, because I hate feeling mediocre and inadequate. Okay but this entry is public so I shan't elaborate. So, Papa came by to get me from school, and I decided to just move out from WX's room that night. And then I wound up at home in bed, snug under my covers and Tumblr-ing/tweeting/texting/chatting with the people whom I care about. It was a good night :)

So, every relationship has a starting point right. I believe the start of a relationship is not when the boy asks the girl to be his girlfriend, or not when he kisses her on the lips, or not when he holds her hands.. It's before all these, a moment when a single look passes between them and inside their hearts, they know they've got each other already. Don't ask me how I know all this, I just do. And in all the relationships that I've had before, serious or not, this 'moment' existed, and that's how I know, he had won my heart.

But even before this moment...

1. A person who is nice to me but not nice to the waiter, or anyone he doesn't have to be nice to, is not nice.
2. Don't fucking tell me 'I love you'?! We're not even together yet and you tell me you love me? Erm, go home.
3. When you notice things about me that even I don't know about.
Like the Ex once told me I eat/drink with my face just 5cm away from the plate/bowl (which he found cute then) - I never noticed it but after he pointed it out to me I noticed myself doing it more! That made me love him a little bit more.
4. Able to laugh at himself, like how I laugh at the stupid things I do sometimes. And please, don't try to cover up a stupid thing you've done with doing something stupider -.-
5. "Shut up, I settle for you." This took the cake for the previous one. I just sat back and watched him run the show, blissful and lucky.
6. Take long walks, long drives, long meals and just talking about our lives, our dreams, our past. To me, that's connection, and if I like what I hear, that's it :)
7. Surprises, that are not OTT but small and understated, but thoughtful all the same.
8. Don't lie to me. Call when you say you'll call, text when you say you'll text, be early when you say you'll be early, be there for me when you say you'll be there for me.. love me when you say you really love me.

Okay, back to Finance! Goal of the day: finish my cheatsheet!
