rent-a-car date!

Jan 18, 2010 21:41

Exactly a week ago, the 2 of us did something wild spontaneous and totally crazy again. We rented a car to travel around the island the entire day - just for kicks! FUN SHIT :D

He came over around lunch time, exploited the car to go run some errands of his, and embarked on our cool date! (OKAY very honestly, I can't remember the details anymore, but I'll try. For posterity's sake.) Okay, we headed to Bukit Timah area for lunch at Brewerkz (supposedly) but plan fail #1 cos it was not open yet! So thank God we had an awesome contingency plan which was Harry's. Don't we love Harry's! The 2 of us (okay more him cos he's an old man) have a sick liking for beer and Harry's must be one of our favourite places to get BOTH our beer and food. So a perfect contingency plan #1 it was :)

Post-lunch, we popped by Cine to get our tickets for Morgans (WHICH SUCKED BTW, SORRY MY BAD), and did many random stuff in between. Lazy to list, but enough for us to remember can already :) Finally made it back to Upper AND Lower Pierce Reservoir to see the sunset! It rocks because he shares my liking for watching the sunset too :) And btw, I have officially turned my boyfriend into a camwhore/someone who appreciates taking nice photos. Perhaps it's the lure of my SLR hehe.

By the time we stayed on insistently to watch the sky turn from blue to orange to black, it was WAY past dinner time, and so we stuck to our original plan - dinner at Dempsey B&J's! There's this dinner place NEXT to B&J's, and since Dempsey is one of my favourite places in boring ol' SG, we wouldn't give it a miss :) Dinner was really really awesome because we shared a hugeass pizza, some bangers and mash.. and laughed laughed laughed till our sides split. You know that your choice in a partner/boyfriend is probably really right when you can eat like you have a hole in your mouth and he still pinches your nose cos he thinks you're absolutely cute. And when you can talk about the most random of things under the sun, yet still inject moments of affection and burst into laughter at whatever you guys are saying. Even the waitress thought we were cute hee :)

So anyway, we had some time after our super-filling (we didn't even have any stomach space left for icecream!) dinner before Morgans, so we did another spontaneous thing - we drove the car up to Mount Faber, for the sake of enjoying some peace and tranquility all to ourselves. We parked the car far away, and walked hand-in-hand up the slope to the top of the hill where we saw most of the West. It's funny how we could be so near school yet the feeling is SO different from when we go to school. And I like quiet moments together. Nice sitting together in silence (I know it's rare that I'm not talking, but still), hearing the sounds around us and our breathing, hands intertwined. Gosh, I love that boy!

I think writing about us is important because it's an essential tip of "How To Survive 5 Months Of LDR 101", and also because the more you write, the more you cherish what you have between each other. Very important not to totally settle into the routine of seeing each other EVERYDAY (except Sundays) and forget just why we're staying with each other.

Over another unglam TYL moment during lunch today:
TYL: "Oh shitttt" (chicken hanging from mouth)
Salty: "Baby, for better or worse remember?"
TYL: "HAHAHAHAHAH"

* I have taken to Friends-locking entries as such because although I know a blog is for people to read, I tend to get self-conscious and hence clammed up when I KNOW who's reading and how they actually take notice of the content. Too invasive! So until this buzz about us dies down, these shall remain locked to public hehe :)

heart skipped, hipz, photos, love, salty
