Hallo hallo, friends. How are you all doing? I figured I would swing by to make an entry, bring attention to some cool things and brag about the awesome weekend I just had in NYC hanging with fangirls. :D

It's certainly not dwindling or dying, it's growing quite a lot. That's part of the problem. Fandom has become this easy access thing kids find and do without any kind of context when they come in. There's no close-knit community or etiquette anymore. It's this culture where there are tons more people, all happily consuming the fanworks we slave away on, but who won't stop for a minute to say thank you or what they liked or give back to the people on the other side producing the content they so happily consume. Fandom isn't dying, it's changing. LJ-style fandom is dying, and that's a shame. The transition time was years ago, it's solidified into what it is at this point, and what it's become sucks. Because what it changed into is something that feeds all the bad stuff that was always there in fandom but which eliminates everything I find pleasurable about what it used to be. And I know it's only going to keep getting worse, so it's like...why? Why put so much effort and energy and heart into making this stuff when we know it's going to go into a void. Anyway, I'm sorry. You were trying to be positive, and I appreciate that. I'm just in a Debbie Downer kind of mood about it. :/
