Hallo hallo, friends. How are you all doing? I figured I would swing by to make an entry, bring attention to some cool things and brag about the awesome weekend I just had in NYC hanging with fangirls. :D
(
Gonna do this right. With, like, pictures and stuff. )

I know people keep saying fandom's dying and stuff, but there's still so much going on I can't keep up for love nor money. In fact your RBB has been sitting on my desktop since February and I haven't managed to read it yet. BUT I WILL!
And I would LOVE to do art for an opera fic by you, but I expect you will be crushed in the stampede of folk wanting to collaborate with you.

The trip was really splendid, as, of course, were the fangirls. I miss it now that I am back at work. :P
I don't think fandom is dying at all. On the contrary, I think it's getting bigger. It's just changing a lot, and not in ways that I find at all positive or pleasurable, unfortunately. :(
:DDD If you're serious, I would be delighted to work with you!!! Shall I PM you my ideas and see if any of them are something you'd like to work on??

And yes, X Files has been such a delight, though I feel so weak doing a rewatch already because my last was only 2 years ago, or slightly less than that. WHATEVER. I'm only doing select episodes, too, so it's all the good and creepiest and Cigarette Smoking Man-iest. *____*
Thanks, bb! I will probably not see many more, but at least I reached that milestone.

Also, steak and eggs is a fabulous choice. Definitely a favorite of mine. And Les Mis with Tebtosca!! How fun? How Sad? :D I saw it in London and loved it to pieces. I am ridiculously jealous of your awesome fangirl meetup!
I love your picture post--it looks like there was super good weather in NYC for you.
As for exercise stuff, I'm a nike girl all the way. I'm personally a fan of their dry-fit line, and well, I go through a new pair of sneakers every 3-4 months

It was so fucking delicious. I cannot honestly remember the last time I had a steak cooked as perfectly as the one was, and the egg yolk was such a perfect compliment. If only I could eat like that everyday (and with the same company!!)
Haha, Les Mis with JC was really fun. We saw Phantom last time I visited, so we're making it through all the classics. And we were on a lot of the same idiot wavelengths, so we were occasionally those idiots laughing inappropriately at the saddest musical on the planet. *thumbs up*
THE WEATHER WAS UNREAL. It's funny, I left D.C. where there was awful weather and came back to awful weather, but the whole trip I had lovely sunshine and warmth. And NY and DC usually have about the same weather, only NY is usually colder, so this was really lucky.
That's really, really helpful! I will look into this line and see if it comes in ( ... )

Your comments about fandom--yes. It's not the same as it was. I've gotten old and gray(er) here and I see the definite and not so great changes. Now, I'm reduced to standing on my front yard, yelling, "HEY! YOU KIDS!! GET ON MY LAWN!!!"

Same. I mean, I feel so futile and pouty for being so unwilling to go with the flow and accept the change, but everything has moved in such a bad direction. All the things I found pleasurable about the fandom experience are dying off and being replaced with such bad alternatives. :/

I hear you about fandom and comments and remembering the glory days of hundreds of comments on fic posts. I only post on LJ so it's very dead sometimes, but I still enjoy the fic writing tremendously so I'm trying to be excited about this year's spn_j2_bigbang. Enough excited that I can actually manage to write 20K words in like...OMG 2 weeks???
ps - cute hair :)
