So, what's it all add up to? It's hard to say. But me, I'd say this was a test...for Sam and Dean.

So, all the excitement leading up to the 200th Supernatural episode got to me, I'll admit. I honestly don't want to talk about the episode, or rather I don't think anyone wants to hear what I have to say. I'm really glad most everyone seemed to enjoy it, though ( Read more... )

I cannot believe the amount of geekery that goes into purposefully rating 200 episodes of television (oh wait I totally can), but while I don't agree with all of your choices I can definitely totally get on board with the top ten, BECAUSE AWESOME. I'm sorry if this latest ep didn't hit a high note for you, but that's ok, because if we all liked Show the way it goes all the time, where would the glorious fanfiction be?
I'm actually really excited for next week because that one looks... weird. Completely and utterly enjoyable weird. So.

LOL, it took so much longer than I was expected. But, lbr, it's not like knowing how long it was gonna take would have stopped me.

Next week looks cute. I mean, I'm worn down and over ever getting excited by anything the current writers produce, but it looked cute, so maybe it will be. Stranger things have happened.

Well, it's 200 episodes! A friend and me once spent an afternoon goofing around trying to name all episodes by title (which was in the ... I think season 4 days?) and we ended missing just a couple or putting them in the wrong place, but just coming up with all the titles and then trying to remember what happened in that ep... Seriously, that's hard enough. I think I'd be able to tell if something wasn't canon before or had happened in a different way, when I saw it, but we have A LOT of material to keep straight after ten years. LOL. The showbible must be an Encyclopedia Britannica by now. What I really like though, is how the new season, no matter which way you look at the execution, has revived fandom and made the fanfic flow (especially from my own perspective) so I have to give props for that.

I did that earlier with a Tumblr set where it was tiny pictures from each ep in order and I got all the titles up to Season 7 (except that I always screw up the Gordon episodes where one is Bloodlust and the other is Fresh Blood, I get them mixed up because they are so similar in subject as well as name!) and then from S7 it was a hot mess. XD

I don't read post-9x01 Wincest and I am not really interested in any other kind of fic, so I honestly have not noticed the increase in output, but I'm glad to hear it's happening!

ohhhhhhh, puzzles, I needs to haz them!!

Well, Deamon has definitely generated lots of interpretations and possible storylines, but it's not only fic, I also feel that meta and discussion - which was slithering into a very thorny beauty sleep at least in my haunts - got some new creative juice as well. For me, it doesn't have to be all good, but the engagement of fandom is important, and I personally feel inspired to engage again.

It wasn't a puzzle, really. Just a compilation of little pictures from each episode that I made a puzzle of because I was bored, lol.

I've never been much into meta, but I will say that demon!Dean, however poorly executed he for the most part was, was an interesting enough idea that I finally have a lot to think over after episodes and have been enjoying thinking through the possibilities in a way I was not able to with Season 9. So I'm not surprised it's generating more conversations! I agree--even though I have not been enjoying much this season, just that spark of finally being vaguely interested to talk about some of it has felt really really good.
