Cheri quickly scans Raven's small, neat handwriting. She was drinking some tea and opening some mail (two marriage proposals for Gwen, a wedding invitation, and some chocolate from Caloria, but no word from Fanfan) when a flustered-looking maid brought her a note.
She is relieved that Raven has returned safely, but she is more than a little surprised that he is back so soon. Usually Stoffel was reluctant to allow Raven to visit her at all -- and now he is allowing him to stay longer..?
Stoffel-san believes that this will be the best way for our interests to be informed of recent events concerning the recent conflicts.
Cheri pauses, briefly wondering how much of the goings-on Raven told her older brother.
Whose interests, Raven? Yours or Stoffel's? Or both?
She really can't blame him if he told Stoffel everything he knew. Besides, Stoffel would have found out about Dan Hiri's return eventually. He already knew about Conrad's disappearance. The gossip was probably all over the country by now. As much as she adored her maids, there was a definite downside to having so many gossiping girls in the palace.
Oniisama must be furious, she thinks, sighing. Oh well. How her brother felt about Cheri's husband was the least of her problems right now...
