Nevksy Prospekt

Chère inconnue,
Last December, I strolled up and down the length of Nevksy Prospekt. I came to know that avenue like the back of my hand. I especially knew all the food places, because so often it took me hours to decide what to eat. At times in my desperation, I would decide to eat McDonald's, but each time fate intervened: McDonald's was closed one night. Another time, it was too busy. Russians seemed unusually fond of hamburgers, even though piroshki are far more tasty,

I photographed a McDonald's sign just near my apartment and even when the space in my camera became limited, I didn't delete it. In that same place, a bomb exploded yesterday.

"There is another café on the opposite side of the street. There people continued drinking their coffee, as if nothing happened."

How typically Russian!

I am glad I missed this event. Also, the outbreak of Bird Flu in Moscow!
