American Splendor

Last night jdsalmon and I were lamenting the fact that we wanted to see American Splendor, but were too strapped for cash.

We figured out that, between the two of us, we had enough to rent a movie at Liberty Street. We checked for Shaolin Soccer, but thanks to either its popularity or recent publicity, it was out. None of the other movies grabbed our attention.

jdsalmon had a sudden moment of inspiration. "I have $20 hidden somewhere in my room just for occasions such as this!"

We saw American Splendor and it was good.

As a side-note, I despise bobbleheads and I am annoyed that they are hawking "limited edition Harvey Pekar bobblehead dolls" on the movie's web site. I thought only jackass sports fans bought bobbleheads, usually of the mullet-sportin' Detroit Red Wings variety.
