Writer's Block: Dream Trip
Right now I would love to go South Korea. I was supposed to go this summer, but the friend I was gonna go with had to change her plans, so my plans have been canceled.
I don't want to go there just for its amazing pop culture. I also want to experience a new environment with a different culture. I've done a number of papers on South Korea and its history, government, values, beliefs, etc. and I find everything about it fascinating. I'm also currently learning the language and I love having to write in different characters than I'm used to. I don't know exactly why that is. Maybe it's because I'm bored with the cultures I'm familiar with (American and Filipino), but whatever it is, I am hooked.
I have planned my future based on my fascination with the South Korean culture. A bit irresponsible and sporadic, some might say, but I have never felt so sure of anything in my life. I want to teach the English language in South Korea. Not your average future career plan, but hey, whoever said I was normal? =D
