jfc i love this

it's so well written and beautiful

and idk how to describe, but the tone is very subtle and soft???? words are eluding me right now but ahhhhhhh it's like these passing vignettes of a jongdae in the after, trying to learn what it means to exist again and it's very poignant and pretty and yeah
words are really failing me rn, but ahhhhh it's so fucking good

and i love how it's almost this quiet buildup of subtle attraction, passing vignettes, changing seasons until there's that resonating, final It feels good to be home.

and ohhhhhh the characters (gOD CHANYEOL,GOD SUHO, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD JONGDAE) and friendship, i love friendship
i love fondness
i love people interacting with each other and fighting with each other and eating with each other and living with each other
i love people growing together too and like learning to grow around each other and accommodate one another

and yeah i love this a lot

Such a sweet piece. It is really lovely to see how Jongdae slowly stops gathering information, he only does the necessary with Sehun because birthdays are never wrong to know and starts to feel at home, out of work and in normal life again.

The slow progression from tension to safety and belonging <3 The night terrors were all too realistic though.

I loved the water balloons and the laundry room scene. Somehow I can't imagine Jongdae and Chanyeol actually sitting still and not talking for a full hour irl, but that scene was so sweet and poignant. And this: Chanyeol laughs so hard he cries, leaning against Jongdae for support. It feels good to be home. I like how at the end, it's not just Jongdae that opens up and relies on his new friends, but he can support them too.

And then the contrast of the pseudo-friendships of Jongdae's former coworkers with Joonmyeon's family at the hanwok: “You don’t have to tell me everything because I told you something about me,” he adds. “After all, I trust you. We’re friends.” Joonmyeon is so perfect <3 ( ... )
