6 workdays until the cruise, yay! And also, crap!
We got some invitations last night at a craft store (yay for simple kits), and coordinating thank-you notes. I'll be starting on labels today, and have my mom gathering family addresses. If current favorite reception option does not work out, we will be visiting option two this weekend, this I vow.
These new AdvantEDGE carb-control shakes are crap. They don't have as much protein or fiber in them as the old can ones, and thus are very watery but still have that nasty gritty texture. Bluh. The old ones weren't great, but they at least felt more like a milkshake.
Yesterday was free burrito day for my office at Chipotle. They lost a lot of money, but got a lot of good PR. Yay free food!
Work is okay. I am suddenly motivated to get all the shit done that's been slowly piling up because it's not that important. Especially before I leave. Filing mostly, and cleaning up little bits of files and spreadsheets that nobody uses but still need to be cleaned up.
The best part about this whole podling thing, is that I'm going to miss most of the planning and annoyance of this year's supplier conference. AHAHAHAHAHA. I'll still be back for the actual conference, but the sending out of invitations, getting RSVP's, finding hotels for people (which isn't what we're supposed to do but somehow becomes our responsibility), dealing with weeks and weeks of PR's and Yoshi's crap....I'll be home for that. Excellent.
Found an excellent site yesterday.
MochiMochi Land is a site with lots of toys, knitted by someone who loves the thousands and thousands of plastic Japanese toys often found in crane games and the like. Weird, kooky, silly, cartoony amigurumi things. She invents knitted toys and sells the patterns, like
Rainycloud,
Squirrel-Infested Tree,
Sleepy Snake and Mischievous Mouse (a personal favorite),
Swimming Lemmings,
Fungus-Infested Finger,
Sausage Dogs,
Pepto the Elephant, and much more. I'm linking to her Flickr pages simply because WordPress seems to be having a problem, but there are lots of nifty things at her blog besides just the knitting. I think I might have to buy a pattern of Sleepy Snake and Mischeivous Mouse. That's just too much fun. Possibly the Uh-Oh's, too.
There's also a picture of her
MIL's ginormous stash, which is a thing of beauty and chaos.
See how I'm totally getting things done and not wasting time browsing through the intarwebz?
