Okay, so, I didn't finish Conner's hat and I didn't finish the Mistletoe dishcloth, and I didn't start on any booties or baby hats, but I DID work on the Pinwheel Baby Blanket. No, I did. For serious. Yo.
So I was wondering why it feels I'm not making any progress on the blanket, and decided to tie a bit of contrasting yarn through a stitch right where I started, in order to get a basic visual of how far I'm getting. You know, in one sitting.
Well, it's no WONDER I can't see any progress anymore; after an evening of knitting, I only managed an inch! One inch! Granted, it's an inch all the way around the blanket, as it is circular, and every other row I add ten more stitches, so it becomes bigger and bigger and bigger, but still. Weep.
I just measured it, and it has a radius of 14 inches or so (hard to tell if I'm stretching it or not stretching it enough), so it's a good 28 inches across at least. Ideally I'd like it to be a solid 36, but if it's going to take me another week of solid knitting just to get into that general vicinity, I may give up before then. Because that's not counting the edging and the weaving in of ends. Blurgh.
At least it's soft. And now, when I cinch up the stitches on the circular needle, it makes a nice little bag that I can carry the yarn ball around in. Heh. Maybe I'll just take several coffee breaks today and knit on it.
Today is going to be rough.
