Being in front of the computer most of the time, I get to surf the Internet a lot. Here are some websites which I find interesting, useful, funny and educational:
- marthastewart.com - for an ultimate guide to being a “domestic goddess”
- familyfun.com - crafts to share for all ages
- bible.com - need to find a bible passage in King James or NIV quickly? This site provides all the Bible translations and versions you need. It’s got a prayer request corner too.
- neopets.com - for dragon, penguin and other weird animal virtual pets. Games earn you points so you could keep your pets in a luxury hotel, win in “battledome” or build a “neohome” for them. It’s a totally different kind of neoworld.
- bigfishgames.com - for free online/downloadable games. Unlike Yahoo! Games, this site doesn’t have a time limit for playing. I get to play Jewel Quest II over and over again :P Just a warning, you need click an ad sponsor first before you get to the game.
- freerice.com - Want to help eradicate poverty? The site has a vocabulary game which gives free 20 grains of rice (to a poor country) for every correct word you answer. The more correct word you guess, the more grains of rice they’ll give out. It's a game with a cause. Pretty cool, huh? ;)
- meebo.com - when you need to chat to friends without downloading an IM program. The site can connect you to MSN, Yahoo, AOL or Google Talk messengers.
- evite.com - for free online chic invitations
- allrecipes.com - for stylish cooking
- recipezaar.com - for easy cooking. That’s wear I got my Easy Chicken Parmesan, Quesadilla and other recipes which I thought I wouldn’t be able to make. The site also provides nutrition facts to help you count those calories.
- pinoycook.net - my guide to cooking Filipino food. I miss sinigang!
- reverendfun.com - for funny Christian cartoons
- dictionary.com and thesaurus.com - for help on, well, words :P
- inquirer.net - for Philippine news
- tmz.com - for Hollywood scandals, I mean, news
- pep.ph - for Pinoy showbiz
- box.net - for online file storage. Free up to 1GB, pay if want more, hehe
- sendspace.com and yousendit.com - for files too big to send through your main e-mail account.
- bedbugregistry.com - to check if a hotel’s been reported for bedbugs. Unfortunately, the site covers only those in the US and Canada. Wouldn't it be "neat" if they cover hotels and inns worldwide?
- geographyzone.com - test your knowledge on geography on this site. Fun!
I still have a lot of my list. Hmm…perhaps I should do a part 2?
