BAPS & Heart Spillage

I can't sleep, but I'm pretty sure you are all soundly so. I got things to do this next week that I'm not looking forward to - the sort of things that poke you, needle you and then let you know how healthy you are independently of how you actually feel. I was just going to write you an email because I was getting all nostalgic about the "old days" after the BAPS announcement, but I see that you've posted (yay!).

I can't believe how long ago that all was! I was looking through some old posts--it's so surreal to see all of us talking to each other as strangers, slowly getting to know each other. Once someone is a dear part of your life, it's hard to imagine that there was once a time you didn't know them. And how weird to see your first meetings preserved on the internet! (Oh how I wish she wasn't deleting the archives.)

I had tons of issues with BAPS (I know, who didn't) but you're right that overall it was a positive experience, and yeah, even the kerfuffles I now remember with nostalgia.

I was no longer the freak and I was hooked.

Man, I know just what you mean. This is really such a wonderful community. I know we're all scattered on LJ now, but we're still together, it's just the format that's changed.

I miss you! Hope things are going well there, and very glad to see you posting! :)

I just wrote you an e-mail, not one of those long ones though.

I was thinking of you the other day and telling the teen how we used to talk even though there's the whole age gap thing. She pointed out that I still had a picture of you in my phone and so I did. I think it's the one I took at Puk [that very, very narrow restaurant] because you have a menu with you. The teen says she wants your hair colour.
