I can't sleep, but I'm pretty sure you are all soundly so. I got things to do this next week that I'm not looking forward to - the sort of things that poke you, needle you and then let you know how healthy you are independently of how you actually feel. Hence the wakefulness even at this early hour

I was just going to write you an email because I was getting all nostalgic about the "old days" after the BAPS announcement, but I see that you've posted (yay!).

I can't believe how long ago that all was! I was looking through some old posts--it's so surreal to see all of us talking to each other as strangers, slowly getting to know each other. Once someone is a dear part of your life, it's hard to imagine that there was once a time you didn't know them. And how weird to see your first meetings preserved on the internet! (Oh how I wish she wasn't deleting the archives.)

I had tons of issues with BAPS (I know, who didn't) but you're right that overall it was a positive experience, and yeah, even the kerfuffles I now remember with nostalgia.

I was no longer the freak and I was hooked.

Man, I know just what you mean. This is really such a wonderful community. I know we're all scattered on LJ now, but we're still together, it's just the format that's changed.

I miss you! Hope things are going well there, and very glad to see you posting! :)

I just wrote you an e-mail, not one of those long ones though.

I was thinking of you the other day and telling the teen how we used to talk even though there's the whole age gap thing. She pointed out that I still had a picture of you in my phone and so I did. I think it's the one I took at Puk [that very, very narrow restaurant] because you have a menu with you. The teen says she wants your hair colour.
