It's the time of the year to reflect what I've done for the past 11 months. I guess it's mostly about work and career, which I think I have been giving a bit too much resources and attention onto this. When I get too engrossed in work, I will remind myself that "nobody is indispensable".
Work
This year has been an extremely challenging year, especially there are sooo many issues with my portfolio - people getting injured, closing down of facilities and getting a couple of nasty emails from people who knew people high up there. I suppose those experiences strengthened my character and allowed me to learn things which I won't if everything was so peaceful. I could only count my blessings and the support
demonice gave when I was called back during night/gym classes/weekends/public holidays.
As usual, not hoping for promotion cos I don't think I have the necessary skills yet. More moolah wouldn't hurt though -)
Travel
I enjoy travelling - looking at different cultures, understanding the habits of the locals and getting away from this country. I'm glad I have visited US, France, Switzerland, Taiwan, HK, Indonesia (Bali) and Thailand (Bangkok) for work or leisure.
Next year I shall plan for Japan, Austria (for work though), Thailand (Koh Samui) and probably explore a brand new country!
Fitness & Health
Health hasn't been on the good side lately - had a relapse of hepatic keratitis and was ill for a couple of weeks. Shall step up on my fitness regime, especially cardiovascular exercises. I think I broke my record of having the lousiest marathon timing this year :x
Studies
Passed part 1 of the PE exam in Nov, and I think I should attempt Part 2 since the momentum is there.
In the long run, I do hope to pursue some courses which is close to my heart - Mech Eng or electronic music. The courses at
https://ccrma.stanford.edu/ are so interesting!
Close ones
The little rascals are growing up quickly! I'm already an uncle of 3 nephews and a niece (from next yr onwards).
