Stuck between the last one and the next one
I feel lost amongst a valley of solitude
Where has she gone? Why is she not here?
And I wait for the next one, don't want to intrude

When love hits you in full effect
You are either floating in perfection
Or experiencing the absence of it.
The absence of her reflection.

And when that absence is prolonged
You begin to adapt to the silent
Until your dreams begin to converge
And your need to love becomes violent

At first you think you're just fine
Who needs a partner to exist?
But being so alone and without
Eventually you miss the bliss

I starve for affection
And for the comfort of her presence
But when can I stop looking back
On each one of her lessons?

And even though I'm quite fine, really
It seems sometimes the sun is blind
Because even though it's been months
You--alone--have been burned on my mind

A brand of your image
A searing of your greatest and worst
The pure essence of your love
Sizzling like you were the first

And I'm sure that you're past this
And you've managed to break through
But somehow, someway, I get a daily reminder
Of how I can't stop from simply loving you.
