the hanson concert was absolutley fabulous.

i was close to not putting this behind an LJ cut, but then i decided that i would be nice and not mess up your friends pages. but i know you all will read this!! sike only allison. and that is why she rocks. <33

it was the greatest and hottest and loudest concert of my entire life (i was deaf and hoarse by the end--go teenage girls!), and i am totally sure that any of the fans around us were PISSED at our insanity (the girl next to allison got up and LEFT! and thank goodness the mother sitting next to me finally went away because i was starting to feel bad for stepping on her feet so much) but what can i say, it was hanson--who WOULDN'T be jumping up and down screaming like a stuck-in-the-90s teenybopper?

and now for item one on the agenda: the american music theatre

the whole theatre was really nice and clean (we had our flipflops off the entire concert and our feet weren't even dirty afterwards! yay!). plus, they were playing "man from milwaukee" in the bathroom before the concert, which makes the american music theatre awesome in my book.

our seats were in row V. V. as in not A or B or C but V. thus we expected to be way in the back unable to see anything much less taylor's sweaty body and zac shaking the shaker but our expectations were definitely proven wrong--although we were far back, we could see perfectly and since the sound booth was right behind us we could sit on the back of our seats to be taller than everyone but not piss them off. so it actually worked out really nicely and i'm convinced that our seats were some of the best in the house (the others being front row center, duh).

item two: the opening acts

i was actually very impressed with ingram hill--i googled them a few days before the concert and saw all these good reviews which turned out to be totally right because they were great live. plus the singer was hot. the bassist was not! but he saw allison screaming at him when we rushed the stage and that is all that matters.

ben jelen is a brown-haired taylor hanson. how many instruments can one person play in only one song?? i swear he went from like the grand piano to the acoustic guitar to the electric violin to making us want to sex him, all in less than three minutes! allison was probably one of the only people in the theatre jamming to him but it was great and we both rocked out when he played "come on."

item three: the setlist etc.

the setlist (in order):

optimistic [radiohead cover]
dancing in the wind
thinking of you
minute without you
runaway run
look at you
lost without each other
the walk/tightrope [zac solo]
ain't no sunshine [isaac solo; bill withers' cover; joined by zac and taylor midway]
underneath
love song
speechless
penny and me
where's the love
signed, sealed, delivered, i'm yours [stevie wonder cover]
deeper
man from milwaukee
in the city
mmmbop
if only

encore:
gimme some lovin' [spencer davis group cover]

my fucking god. these three boys are so incredibly talented! i don't care if you think they used to look like girls or if you hate the word mmmbop or what, but everyone in the world must admit that they are talented and they are wonderful and they are great live and they are so fucking hot! and their ENERGY! i am so glad they played some songs from middle of nowhere and this time around (unfortunately none from 3CG but could anyone honestly expect them to bust out "stories"??)--zac even did his megaphone part in "man from milwaukee"!! that was absolutely priceless. as was taylor jumping around during "in the city" and also isaac's guitar solos in just about every song they played (when he bent down and rocked out let me say that i was cheering like a madman). their solos were also incredible--zac singing "the walk"??!?! i was teary eyed! (how dorky of me, i know, but only allison understands how i can almost start to cry during "love song" and a few others).

p.s. they all looked totally good last night and i was glad because if they were ugly for the amish i would have shot them. but not without shooting natalie aka fucker first and sexing taylor <333

item four: moments of last night that i must remember

1) when isaac started his solo, he began to explain the song that he was about to sing and said: "not so long ago.." this was immediately followed by allison and i shouting "IN A TOY ROOM NOT SO FAR AWAY" and hysterical laughter. he did a double take, stopped, and said "what did they just say??" because (of course) he heard us and because (of course) he remembers what a fabulous song "tin soldier" was from their fabulous 3CG album

2) zac put on an afro and rocked out (i think it was right after taylor and he came out during "ain't no sunshine"??)

3) during their encore ("gimme some lovin") taylor and isaac GRAPEVINED (or, if you're allison, the "VINE OF SEX") TOGETHER ACROSS THE STAGE LIKE FOUR TIMES! it was wonderful and caused allison and i to, of course, grapevine in our hotel room.

4) taylor hanson thrust his pelvis. it was amazing.

unfortunately my camera decided to be a bitch so i have no pictures :( but allison had her camera and hopefully her (ENTIRE ROLL) of film will come out really nicely. but i'm sure i'll be able to find pictures on hanson.net or in the hanson community which makes me happy because i would like to relive this night over and over. i seriously told allison today that if i go to heaven it will be a hanson concert "in which i am sitting in front row center and they touch me a lot" <33.

and i think that i'm finally done raving about last night! sike, i will never be done. i was running around my house today in the best mood i've ever been in singing hanson and annoying my parentals (my mom called me a "chatty cathy") and i realized that hanson makes me happy. i hate love being obsessed.

and for good measure (what a horrible quality but what an amazing picture of all of them):
