AOL Sessions (Yes, Yellowcard did cheat)
Yellowcard cheated.... Your proof is on Yellowcard's myspace comments page:
I know you probably don't even read your comments, Ryan Key, but in case you do I'm writing this.
If you, anyone else in Yellowcard, or anyone who works for you really does read these, I am extremely disappointed. If you read these comments youfd be aware that your fans are cheating. The fact that you continue to encourage fans to vote, without advising them to play fair is extremely irresponsible. I see fans posting gRyan Key is the best band leader in the universe!h but if you really did deserve that title, you would have said something.
These are the blog comments I am referring too:
-- gBelow « Averageh (
http://www.myspace.com/lawrence1989), on your May 31st blog, posted this: "Okay! I've got it sorted! I made a macro on my keyboard (G15) to auto vote for you guys. Let the computer do its work!"
-- g-Chris-h (
http://www.myspace.com/cmorin543), on your June 2nd blog, posted: gi setup a macro to keep voting for you guys all night last night... i think it put about 10000 votes in... :-)h
-- also, bulletins have been sent out with instructions on how to cheat, and links to programs that can be used
Here are screenshots of the posts:

Also, Saying you have a superior fanbase? There's enough elitism in the music industry, Ryan. You really don't need to promote it. No fanbase should go around thinking it's superior. That's what causes problems, fights, etc. I already see YC fans repeatedly bashing My Chemical Romance over this poll, which is extremely immature since MCR fans havenft been bashing Yellowcard at all. Plus, if MCR also had blogs on their myspace, you wouldn't stand a chance. (thatfs not arrogance--thatfs fact) How does having an advantage, and having cheaters helping you win, make your following superior? Even when we're down, the MCR fanbase has STILL not resorted to cheating. Unlike you, we want to play this fairly, even if it means losing.
On top of all that, you are lying to your fans. Winning this poll does NOT mean that you definitely get to perform on AOL and radio stations ARE already playing your new songs.
Marilyn Manson's Comments on MCR
Marilyn Manson's NEGATIVE comments... They're fucking stupid mean.
'Marilyn Manson has been in the headlines lately, we've been talking about him. He's got a new album and some new things to say about My Chemical Romance. Mmmm, draaama. Manson says the song mutilation is the most sincere form of flattery off his new album 'Eat Me, Drink Me.' Is about Gerard Way and the rest of the band. The song features pretty unflattering lyrics, and Manson went on to say "I'm embarrassed to be me 'cause these people are gonna be doing these really sad, pitiful, shallow versions of me and that's not what I've done"'
Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance spoke at the Oxford Union tonight, in a question and answer session. He seemed very nice, articulate and funny.
I had considered asking him about his response to Marilyn Manson's comments in which he called the band sad and pitiful and accused them of ripping him off. Someone had just asked a question relating to events such as the Virginia Tech shooting and Columbine, in which blame was placed on figures like Marilyn Manson, and Gerard had spoken about how Marilyn Manson's worldview seemed to be that the world was a very ugly, hateful place, whereas MCR are more hopeful, and try to find the beauty in life. Feeling that this was a good time to ask my question, I asked Gerard what his response to MM's comments was. He kind of laughed, as if he'd been expecting it. He spoke about how angry a person Marilyn Manson seems to be, although intelligent. He then said that he didn't see that they were particularly similar in look, and then said "We certainly don't sound the same. You can take that however you want". He also seemed to make a slight dig at MM later in the session, after someone had asked him about the Daily Mail's scaremongering about emo bands, and the people who claimed that MCR were some sort of cult. He said that they didn't want to be a cult, but that certain other musicians who had been mentioned tonight would probably like to have people worshipping them.
In other news, his favourite historical figure is Joan of Arc and his favourite US President is Abraham Lincoln (who is "awesome"). And his reaction to some of the sexism, homophobia and general prejudice he'd witnessed in the punk scene was to say "Ok, I'm gonna wear make-up and touch dudes". Oh, and his most embarrassing moment on stage was when he knocked his belt buckle, causing it to come undone and his trousers to fall down. Apparently he was wearing really bad underwear at the time.

There was a bonfire in MCR's honour.

Hi Just back in from the MCR set.
Yes there was some bottling some heavy at times but they handled it extremely well and played on. And when some chanted and had a flag saying 'f**k you MCR'. Gerard very calmy said 'oh you want to f**k me'
The first aid section was very stretched and sad to say a few people were injured bottles which was not a nice sight. My belief again - get a section out with cameras - photograph the bottlers and get them named, shamed and banned. There is freddom of expression and then there is unsafe hooliginism imho
