Wow, it's kinda weird going home and back in 21 hours.
And, surprisingly, home won like a bazillion points yesterday - it was super, super cool. David came with to keep me company on the train ride back (which effectively meant that I was completely not productive and will become productive in T-the amount of time it takes to finish typing this) which was really cool. I wanted to go back in time to see the choir practice (as in, arrive in my town before the end of their practice) which actually happened, despite the 118 having way too much traffic on it. Some friends from home started making some wacky comments at David, which was supremely entertaining. Then there was some scrabble with my mother, playing a REAL piano!! Hot!! Hott!!! (with two t's!! - holy cow, I miss playing. A lot.) And then salmon and milkshakes and mmmmmmm.
Of course, since it is only 2 weeks until halloween, my mother and i had to watch hocus pocus (which David had never seen - and you all say I live in a cultural wasteland!!). He had never seen it, and it killed some of his brain cells, but he'll survive.
But then here's the part where my town wins massively huge wicked awesome oh my gosh wow points. First off, we were having SANTA ANA WINDS!!! You all think you have "Santa Anas" here. Wrong. So, so wrong. But at home, we were having some of the hot dry winds that thrash at your hair and are amazing. So we're sitting on top of this jungle gym thingy with this amazing wind (and I'm flipping out because I had missed the wind so much) and watching, get this, a THUNDERSTORM!!!! across the southern half of my valley!! Yes, that's right folks! And then, it started to rain, so we were out in the rain and it was awesome and there was thunder and lightning to the point I couldn't sleep for a while and wow!!! HOT!!!
It was amazing. And totally made my trip home.
And we almost missed the train coming home because the ticket machine was challenged.
