Gwaaahhhh, you drew the banshee scene! I mentioned to oldblue that I was very excited to have the two of you--two of the most vivid and wonderful artists around fandom--jumping on board to illustrate my insanity, and I'm so glad you picked such a specific and intense scene. And I love it!

And now I'm very curious as to how you made it, because it's colored pencil, but looking at House's hair and his sleeve, I'm seeing what I think are scratch marks--like a scratchboard? So I'm guessing you must have done some seriously heavy scrubbing with the pencils, and it's absolutely gorgeous. It looks like paint--or like resin, almost. Like wax, and the colors and mood really shine with that kind of look. Eeeeee, awesomesauce.

Oh my goodness, this is so great. *squees* I love the landscape. I love that you picked up on that weird, half-gloom in the sky and really went with it. I love House's hand and the grass and the way he looks like he's holding his breath. Just beautiful, and so vivid--every single inch of this pencil painting is completely saturated with color.

Thank you so much for coming into my silly sandbox and playing with me! I adore this! <3

The banshee scene was the first thing that jumped out at me as something to illustrate. I had two different ideas, one where we see House's whole body lying prone in agony and this one, where we get to see more detail. This is also one of the many moments where I could really see it in my head and hoped that I could capture exactly what I saw as I read it. Details, I love details. :)

The mood of the piece was a bit by accident. While working on it, I hit some patches where the paper was starting to erase away (which is probably some of those scratch marks you're seeing), so I had to be careful towards the end trying to make it look the way I wanted to! Then, because I didn't have a scanner, I had to take a digital photo of it. No matter what I did, I got the shine. So I put in Photoshop and tried to hide the shine and the bad patches and it made it moodier, so I kept it. :)

I use Prismacolor coloured pencils which to my mind are the best in mixing and quality. If you use them the way I was taught, you will get this waxy quality to it. And I always fill every square centimetre of the page with colour. :) Its my favourite medium.

Wow, you happen to hit on all the parts where I used more of my artistic license instead of a reference, this must be good. :)

Oh gosh, such praise from one of the best writers/artists in the fandom! Thank you! ♥
