I am doing this not for spoilers, so that I can see what others thought may or may not happen, or what they wanted to happen, in relation to the new book. If you want to post your theory without reading mine or others, just click the comment button. I think, if anyone posts here, I'd love to come back after I have read the book and seen what others wanted, and how spot on we may or may not have been
I know what I want to happen will most likely not happen, but in my heart of hearts I want it to pan out like this. Included in this are things I think will happen in the book - namely the locket as a horcrux.
Harry realises that he is the final horcrux, and that in order for Voldemort to be defeated, he himself must be defeated. Voldemort would have loved the idea that a part of his soul - the horcrux - be instilled in Harry, the boy he had heard would be the one to have the power to kill him.
So Harry goes on the path to collect the other horcruxes - including the locket we seen in the Black household in OotP; this locket being the fake one Dumbledore was weakened by, and the RAB being Regalus Black, Sirius' brother.
So Harry gets them all, and destroys them all, and realises he is the only one left. He and his band of followers - the OotP heroes, young and old - seek out Voldemort, Harry not telling any of them what he knows and what he is about to do. When they are almost there, Harry confides in the one person he feels can handle this news and not convince him out of it - Neville Longbottom. Together they work out the plan. Harry kills himself in front of Voldemort (or maybe allows Voldmort to kill him, I kind of prefer the graciousness of dying by ones own sword). Voldemort, and indeed everyone else, is so shocked over what happens they do not realise or notice Neville. He comes out firing - a killing curse later, and Voldemort is dead on the floor.
Neville is then left to tell the others, after the death eaters flee/get caught, what happened and why; each person devasted at the loss of Harry but at his selfless heroism. Neville explains how Harry interpreted the prophesy
- to live is not just to be alive, but to enjoy life free to pain, of fear, of constantly looking over ones shoulder and being able to do what you want. Neither Harry nor Voldemort could do this whilst the other lived as each was aware that someone out there wanted them dead, and whats more had the power to do it. Neither was able to live as they wanted - Voldemort in hiding, and Harry in fear and being sheltered and protected from the world.
After all this happens, we are then taken to Harry's funeral. A service held at the Ministy of Magic to have Harry instilled as an honoury member of the Ministry, hero, medal of valour etc. After this Ron, Hermoine, Ginny, Neville and Luna go down to the department of Mysteries to look over the place they had all fought with Harry by their side. They get to the Veil on the dais and all hear a voice they know. Its Harry. They sneak up to the veil, and Harry pokes his head out as does 3 others - Lily, James and Sirius. He is looking the happiest any of them have ever seen him, he is free and cheerful. He finally has a family, he finally belongs. After talking to them and delivering messages, he is about to depart when the veil blows his hair apart. No longer is Harry the boy who lived, he is the boy who lives - the boy without a scar.
