a pseudo-poem
Sometimes when my relatives call
I don't answer
because I know whatever news they have
will be upsetting, like
"your sister's back in rehab" or "your aunt just had a stroke"
I've told them to put the bad news between
some of the good
But it seems they forget that part, and leave the bad for me.
So I prefer to screen the calls
And hope for the best anyway.
This wasn't supposed to be a depressing poem. Actually, I kind of found it uplifting.
