Speaking of terrible storms...
So in yesterday's blog I mentioned the terrible storm that messed up South Omaha (where I work) and also out near Fremont/Valley where my dad lives. My aunt's town was also pretty bad. South Omaha has power back and so does my aunt's area, but my dad's area is pretty rural and probably won't get it back for about a week. Ryan and I headed out to his place for a little while to hang out and check out the damage.
They were working on cleaning it up when I got there, but damn! They live in the country near a bunch of other cabins and the whole neighborhood looked terrible. Luckily my dad works as a superintendant of a construction company and they let him borrow some equipment and workers to clean away all the trees that fell on and around his house.
It's odd how all these areas were so trashed and yet my neighborhood looks absolutely fine. I suppose we got lucky. (:
