Oh Leah, you're hilarious.
So... I have nothing to do for the rest of the afternoon, and I forgot my book at home this morning. Not that I really had a book to read. I think me and my Chapter's gift certificates are going to take a walk tonight and remedy that.
So let's see if I can bring you all up to speed on somethings that I've been thinking about. I'll keep your friend's page tidy with the use of lj-cuts, but please be sure to read the HOBBIES part, if nothing else.
So 2008 didn't suck. In fact it was pretty good for me, since the economy had almost no effect on me, other than it is making me sad when I see my Employee Savings Plan portfolio.
Major Happenings of 2008:
Final Semester of School
Graduation/Convocation
Kevin and Sky's Wedding
Amanda and Trevor's Wedding
Moving Ajae to Ottawa/Moving in with Ajae in Ottawa
Getting a temporary job in Ottawa with the government doing safety analysis
Matt and Angela's Wedding
Moving to Kingston
Starting my new shiny job
Not killing anyone
I include that last point on there, because for a time it was close. I did recruit a couple people to help move the body, but in the end I decided that it wasn't worth it.
Although my job is not everything I was hoping it would be, which is disappointing, 2008 went by pretty fast. 2009 looks like it won't go by so quickly, since there won't be as many life changes (hopefully? maybe?). I think 2008 started decelerating a little two early, but it was quick off the mark to start with so it will probably place pretty well when compared to other years in the race that is my life.
I'm a boring person. I realize this every time I talk to someone that I don't talk to on a day to day basis. I talk on MSN or the phone with people and I realize that we haven't talked in a month and that I have nothing to say. I work out a lot, I watch TV on the internet, I'm not to happy with my job at the moment, I see my boyfriend almost every weekend and yes I have recently read something interesting. I'm job a regular Jane-Schmoe (not quite the same ring as Joe Schmoe, but definitely more feminine. The fact is I'm starting to bore myself, and so I think I need a hobby (or hooby as the case may be). I was saying to Ajae the other day that I think this is half the reason I want to get married. So that I can spend my free time designing invitations, centerpieces, favours, and have something to talk about. Sadly that's a pretty crappy reason to be engaged. So why don't you all tell me about your hobbies and give me some ideas about what I could be getting up to. I'm thinking about making cards (like Thank you cards, Birthday cards etc.) so I'm going to head out to Michael's some time soon and see what supplies they have there. If the final products are decent, maybe I'll post some photos. I can make them while I watch TV so it's kinda perfect.
So I'm a little intrigued by CBC's new show 'Being Erica'. The commercials are pretty decent, but what actually piqued my interest was the Video blog that CBC has on their website that is an introduction to the show. I only watch internet TV, and so I was surfing the CBC website to see what new episodes I hadn't already watched (specifically to watch the NYE Air Farce) and that's when I found the Video Blog. I haven't seen it advertised any where else. The Globe and Mail also has a piece on the show today, but I haven't read it yet. Maybe I will on my break. The big problem is that I don't have a TV, just whatever I can find on the internet. I prefer to watch from either CTV, CBC, or Global's websites because they generally stream fast and have no watch limits. Hopefully the CBC puts it up, but I intermittently have problems with their website, so I may have to go searching somewhere else.

The Daily Show
The Colbert Report
Family Guy
American Dad
South Park
and a random smattering of CSI, Ab Fab, and anything else that catches my interest when I realize I've watched all of the above. Also, on an odd note, it is really hard to find a good site to watch the Simpsons from with any regularity. Which is actually the reason that I have pretty much stopped watching it. I've noticed that all the references that people make are for old episodes anyways. No one watches the Simpsons anymore.
So a big congratulations to all those friends of mine who got engaged or married in 2008. I was surprised that I didn't have to send out more congratulations when I finally checked the internet after the holidays. One couple that I was expecting to get engaged on New Year's Eve didn't, but apparently they are just putting it off till the summer, so that they in a little bit better financial situation.
Also if anyone has any book suggestions let me know. Sadly no one bought me a book this year for either my birthday or Christmas. I got two gift certificates though. And since I buy books the way that Ivy buys movies, budget isn't really a problem anyways.
If you haven't seen Be Cool, Get Shorty, or Four Weddings and a Funeral do so right now!
Would anyone like to come visit Kingston or Ottawa other than Leah in the coming months? Ajae and I will definitely be in Ottawa for Winterlude (although if this silly bus strike continues we may not actually make it to any of the events) so if anyone is coming to that please let us know so we can hang out with you! We are very lonely. Even my father thinks that we spend way too much time together.
Happy New Year everyone!
