This must be what being an Intern feels like

Claudia Donovan sat heavily on her suitcase, bouncing lightly up and down on it to force the lid closed until she could reach down and finally click the whole thing shut. She wasn't used to traveling this heavy, but this was the first time in a while she'd be having an extended stay away from home. Home being the Warehouse, of course, funny how she never expected to call a massive building full of deadly gizmos that, but it was very much true. It was one of the reasons she  wasn't so sure about her latest special gig.

Taking a weekend up to Eureka to fiddle with the wiring was one thing, packing up and heading off even further north for as long as it took to install some new security measures and totally overhaul a system? Was something way different. She was good, but she wasn't that good, she was looking at weeks, maybe months before that would all be up and working. She was flattered, obviously, sure, it wasn't exactly an agent's assignment but it was a lot of responsibility that she was being entrusted with, a lot of faith put in her not inconsiderable skills.

But at the same time, she didn't like how Artie was keeping her in the dark about where exactly she was going, and why they needed Warehouse level security. All she's known was that they'd been in the middle of a chess game when Artie's phone had rang. Whoever was on the other line had made quite an impression, because moments later he was making plans to bundle Claudia off with little explanation.

She knew the facility itself was referred to as a 'sanctuary', and that they'd send an escort to pick her up at the airport in Vancouver, but other than that, she was more clueless than she wanted to be. Her flight was in three hours, still plenty of time to do a little 'research' on the net.
