Well, it's been a long time since I updated! But since I've pretty much got lots of time on my hands now, and since I just have to vent off, I will update my journal.
Disclaimer: Any opinions that I state in this journal are to those of the people who work at the Apple store and no offense is intended to my apple computer using friends.
I've been to two Apple stores and the employees there are cold. I don't know if they sense that I'm a pro-PC person and choose to ignore me and even go out of their way to avoid me (I took a shower, I swear!!!), but it's just plain rude. My first Apple store experience was in San Fransisco and I really felt that people didn't care too much about the people who walk in the store. I actually just entered the store to pass the time while waiting for my mom who was in the next shop so I didn't mind so much that nobody came up to me to see if I needed any help. Contrast to the sales people in Manila who watch your every move, this was much better.
But today I needed help. I do not know my ipods and I would assume that the people there knew their ipods. I went in with a list of stuff I needed to get for a friend. I didn't mind that nobody came up to me to ask me if I needed help, but I did mind when I approached someone for help, that he just brushed me off and told me to look at the far shelf. Excuuuuuse me!!! Maybe the dude was having a bad day. Found the stuff that I needed but wanted to know if the ipod case I got (iskin evo) was the same as what my friend wanted (iskin evo3 arctic). Now I just found out that there is already a 3rd generation ipod. So for fear that I might be buying the wrong thing, I go up to a nice lady to ask her.
Me: Excuse me, but would you know if the iskin evo3 is the same as the iskin evo?
Lady (in a rush): I'm sorry, I'll be right with you in a moment.
Me: Ok, no problem.
Few minutes later
Lady (walking briefly): Just give me a few more minutes.
Few mintues more... I decide to browse through the software and I see the saleslady leaning on the table, not doing anything. I end up leaving the store, making sure saleslady sees me.
I decide to go into Best Buy to see if they have ipod accessories. A few minutes into the store, I get 3 different salesmen ask me if I was looking for something / if I needed any assistance. Yeah! Go PC stores!!! Unfortunately, they didn't have the ipods accessories I wanted.
Then I go into a swankier electronics store. They sold cameras, projectors, etc. Looking at the VAIO laptop and this nice gentleman asks me if I needed any assistance. I asked him about my ipod accessories. He brings me to his ipod station and was very helpful in explaining to me the different generation ipods even though he knew that I wasn't going to get an ipod nor was I going to get any accessories from him. (since he didn't have what I wanted). He tells me to try the Apple store next door. I told him that the people there are not helpful at all. He chuckles and tells me that he's heard about that before.
I go back to the Apple store just for one last look. Lady sees me, turns around and goes into the backroom. Karma karma karma.
