My family is being hilarious again. The current topic of conversation on the listserv is the historical one-upping between the Swedes and the Norwegians. Of course, despite the fact that the Swedes are economically dominant (thus far several successful automotive brands, furniture company and a whole bunch more people), my family is finding every which way to talk about how Norway is the poor little brother and the Swedes are evil. Including citing relevant military moves from WWII. I kid you not.
This got started because my dad's cousin John was reminiscing over some meatballs his Norge g-ma (Jhordis, I believe) made him. Supposedly he once said something about wanting some Swedish meatballs and she made him leave the house because she was so offended.
Hilarious. I cannot WAIT to spend a full week living among the banter. With faces! Round, Norwegian faces.
