Tim and Chelsie: The Honeymoon

Jun 20, 2006 21:47

Greetings from Lakewood, WA!  We made it back to Tim's today, and after catching up on everything that has been going on with LJ, I have decided to recap our trip to San Fransisco as best I can, even though I have to type it on this BOB Forsaken laptop that I will NEVER get used to typing on. *HATE*

So, here we go...try to keep up will ya?

FRIDAY:
Friday morning we arrive at the SeaTac airport 2 hours early as per usual to check in and whatnot.  After waiting in the long line for American Airlines, Tim happens to see a sign, practically written on a friggin post-it note, that "American Airline passngers with numbers blah blah blaaaaaahh....report to Alaska Airlines."

I should point out now, that when Tim and I were doing the whole "pick out a honeymoon package thing" we deliberately avoided Alaska Airlines because according to Tim's research, they are the worst airline to choose because of consistent delays and breakdowns.  So when we make our way down to BFE where the check in for Alaska is, Tim asks the guy why they think they can just automatically move us around to whatever airline they like, in which they reply that American and Alaska are "codesharing partners" which basically means that it was cheaper for American to move us to another airline and keep booking more passengers for the American flight that we were supposed to have.  THEREFORE the airline that we PURPOSELY AVOIDED was forced upon us like a drunk middle aged man at Cowboys.

We are not happy about this....but it gets better.

Sure enought as we are on the aircraft taxiing and getting ready for take off, the pilot informs us that some light went off and that means bad, so we are going back to fix the problem and will take off in 30 minutes.......................................30 minutes later he tells us that while fixing the first problem they happen to run into a second problem that will take another 30 minutes to fix......much more than 30 minutes later (freaking pilot liar) he comes back again to say that we have to get off the plane so they can fix ANOTHER problem.  They say, come back at 3:30 so we can take off at 4:00.....and our flight was supposed to take off at 12:37.....yeah, I'm pretty furious.  Hate Alaskan airlines....f-ing eskimos.

During this break Tim is on the phone with everyone in the free world complaining about how we got screwed over on our honeymoon and how we would have never given anyone any money if we had known that they were going to stick us with this stupid stupid airline.

Basically no one gave a rats ass.

Anyhoo we finally take off at 4:20 and are a good 4 hours late into San Fransisco.  But when we got the beautiful hotel, the dude at the front upgraded our room for us, and gave us a ton of cool discount stuff for shops and restaurants, etc.   So we ate dinner at this place downtown that we walked to and watched Failure to Launch in the hotel room before calling it a night.

SATURDAY: *HAPPY ANNIVERSARY KARALEE AND RICKEY*
Got up, ate room service breakfast (waffles for me, omelette for Tim) and headed out to spend the day at Pier 39 which is around Fisherman's Wharf, Azkaban Alcatraz, and pretty much everything else that is awesome.  We caught a trolley to bring us down there, and I felt like literally the only loser tourist in the city.  However, once we got to the pier, we were quickly joined by every other tourist in the free world...so great fun.

Had lunch at a little italian place that gave us a free wine sampling after dinner, but Tim didn't eat much because he said he was still full from breakfast.   Meanwhile, we were planning on going on a wine country tour the next day that would take us to about 5 or 6 vineyards around the area, and get sloppy drunk accidently on Merlot and Chardonney (sp?)

After going around shops all day, and taking lots of pictures (which will be posted later I promise)  we went back to the hotel to rest before heading out to a comedy club later on that night.

THEN Tim got sick,  admitted he had felt like crap all day but didn't say anything, and started throwing up and whatnot.  After much going back and forth and being stubborn *ahem* we decided that he had food poisoning....probably from the omellette that morning.  I called Lindsay to find out whatTF to do for food poisoning.  She was w/ Marcus and Ms Amy Gayle, who suggested that we go the the Emergency Room which made me burst into tears.

I do not know what I will do if my children ever get hurt.  I will fall to pieces.

So we got into a freakin cab and went to the nearest hospital.  And poor Tim who is ya know the freakin man of the universe and will never complain about feeling bad about anything had to make the driver stop so he could vomit out of the door.  Personally I blame the driver, b/c they drive like maniacs anyway and almost made me vomit, but I digress.

So we spent the rest of the night representing LSU in the ER in San Fransisco, Tim fell asleep, I finally chilled the hell out, and all in all it was successful night.

And for the record I have not made any of this up.....this is my life, welcome to it.

SUNDAY: *HAPPY FATHERS DAY*
Tim was not allowed to eat anything (but gatorade and jello, yum) , I felt bad about eating anything and we spent the day watching movies on TBS.  If Tim apologized once for "ruining our honeymoon" he apologized a bajillzilltrillumptillion times and I threatened to divorce him if he did it one more time, everytime.

MONDAY:
Got up and went to Azkaban....yes that is what I'm calling it now...I don't care if that makes me a freak along with Lindsay...it is the way it should be.
It was great fun and very interesting, but I really did leave it feeling restless and in need of Sirius Black in my life.  *angst*

Then we met up with Mom and Dad and spent the day going around the Pier with them, which is great because after 2 days we STILL did not see all there was to see.  We showed the the fat, lazy sea lions that congregate around the pier and make honking noises at tourists, and Tim said that he was reminded of Bruce and Billy.  *giggle*

Finally we all had dinner at Scoma's, which FYI is the place that Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio had their engagement party, and it was delicious and fun and it really was a treat to see mom and dad, honeymoon or not.

Today our flight was at 6:00....it actually left on time, but I was still cranky because people in China weren't even up yet, and that's all I have to say about that.

So that was our honeymoon.  We really did have a fabulous time, whether I conveyed it through my ramblings or not.  If this post fell apart toward the end, it is because I am really tired of using the backspace button and am quite ready to throw this freakin laptop against the wall.

I miss all of you and will see you soon!

*HUGS AND KISSES*
