happy birthday to catagator and tomoyodesu ♥ as for me, i've had a pretty low-key birthday this year. i woke up at 7:20 to skype with the family - they put a candle in a twinkie and made me blow it out over the webcam - then got ready for etegami. i only made one card today because i also carved my hanko (!) today, but it's still pretty. i'll probably post it eventually. at some point. after etegami, megumi and i went out to lunch at our favorite italian restaurant/bakery and she drove me home. when i got home, pokemon white was in my mailbox, so i've pretty much been playing that since. it's such good japanese practice guys. and, you know, i get to play mah pokemans. so that's good.
the light in the picture was megumi's birthday gift to me. it's a silhouette candle holder, apparently, because the design is printed on the inside and it casts a shadow on the frosted part when it's lit. one of her friends gave her a similar candle holder for her birthday last year and she loved it so much that she wanted to make me just as happy ♥ so now i have to pass the happiness on. if i can find another one of these. anyways. it's so pretty, isn't it?
i thought we were going out for my birthday tonight, but apparently it's tomorrow instead. nic's birthday is in two days, so we're going to combine them together, i've been told. (and i'm good with that - nic's a good guy. he was also the second person to wish me happy birthday. haha.) ugh, that means i'm not drinking though, which i suppose isn't that big of a deal. i teach every day next week, so i should probably be in somewhat working order come monday.
