welp. i feel much better. so here's a slightly cracked-out excerpt in the je comparison series: arashi vs. animals. most people call sho a chipmunk (and i will in here too - it's too perfect) and apparently ohno gets called various rodent names as well, but i don't really hear fandom talk about nino, jun and aiba.
LUCKILY I HAVE BEEN SICK AND BORED ALL DAY. also i may be hallucinating or something, so forgive me if these don't even remotely make sense. uh, as usual, here we go:
let's get the easy ones out of the way first, shall we?
ohno reminds me of a bird in most of his photos. i sort of understand how people equate him to a rodent, but that spot's already filled by sho. can't have two of the same animal in arashi! it gets boring! plus, look at that bird's hairstyle. it's like half of ohno's life summed up.
this may have been too easy, but i had to put it in. sure, the outfit's not ohno's fault, but he wore that plumage like a pro! boy's part bird of paradise, obviously.
ah, sho and a chipmunk. the classic comparison. my favorite part about this comparison is that when i did a google image search for chipmunks, the first few pages were ALL chipmunks stuffing food into their mouths. appearance aside, i think that could work for sho, too.
ahahahaha i crack up every time i look at this. i don't know the context of the sho picture, but look at his face! clearly he was caught mid-acorn-gather. also, the sho photo was originally saved as "dendrophiliac.jpg" on my hard drive. ahahaha. he just looks so guilty.

yeah, it's a hamster, not a chipmunk. BUT LOOK AT BOTH OF THEIR LITTLE FACES OMG. the look on the hamster's face totally says "maximum umai!"
BACK TO THE PROGRAM
whenever i see aiba, my brain says CAT CAT CAT OMG HE IS A CAT. i decided on a lion pretty much for the photos that i ended up finding, though he could pretty much be anything in the feline family. chibi comparisons are always cute.
not gonna lie, i really wanted to post this aiba picture. OMG SO HOT thoughts aside, aiba's face when he's not being a lunatic is pretty intense. again with the cub, but i think both photos are a nice example of things that are normally considered cute still being able to pull off an intense photo.
okay, just follow me on this one. ignore jun and the horse for the time being - focus on aiba and the lion. shockingly alike! they're both climbing on something that probably shouldn't be supporting their weight and ROARING. ("rawr" jokes aside...) but this photo got me over the surprisingly difficult roadblock of matching jun with an animal.
i feel like this doesn't need much explanation, really. uh, let's just leave it at this - i found a TON of photos of ponies with jun's hair. for some reason, i couldn't find a good-quality photo of when he had those awful extensions, or i would've added one of a beautiful horse's mane as well.
the other great thing about horses - particularly show horses - is that they have some FABULOUS outfits. jun, of course, can't resist a fabulous outfit and a chance to show a crowd of people what he can do on a stage. he would be the perfect show horse.
okay, so i cheated a little bit on nino. i compared him to one of my own pets. bell is the smaller sugar glider nom nom nomming on her sister jinx's shoulder. nino as well appears to be chowing down on ohno's shoulder. i have no idea why they're so very shirtless. it's a bit creepy, actually. (also lol ohno's pose)
there are a million photos of nino crawling all over ohno, but not as many of ohno sitting on nino's lap. jinx is practically on bell's lap also. this is also a good time to mention how mellow jinx is in comparison to bell. bell freaks out and climbs on everything while jinx sits in my hand, licks it a bit, and stares off into space. bell is also SUPER CLINGY when it comes to jinx. bell barely lets me pet her, yet she cuddles up to jinx whenever she has a chance. if they weren't sisters, they would be the suggie ohmiya.
sugar gliders naturally have buggy, dead eyes. bell always seems to have a little bit of mischief in her eyes, or at least evilness. i am convinced that bell is plotting my slow, painful death so she can run away with jinx and rule the world with an iron fist. nino, of course, would make a perfect evil overlord.
this is jinx, not bell, but still. STOP CROWDING THE CAMERA, BOTH OF YOU.
BONUS BIT!
i was originally going to compare nino to a turtle, but it was solely based off of this photo. plus, you know, turtles are so boring.
