York is getting a Fat Feminism class next year!
How exciting is that?
Today was a reinvigorating day, discovering that piece of news and discovering Irena Klepfisz, the holcaust survivor Jewish lesbian feminist who speaks out adamantly and shamelessly against Israel, and spending time with Ena Dua. She is a brilliant anti-racist feminist, scholar, academic who, while she might be the best facillitator, is one of the most dynamic and intelligble people I've ever spent time with. She changed my life a bit today. Getting to spend some time with her outside the confines of the classroom was spectacular.
I'm learning the history of the JWCEO which Klepfisz started in New York.
ps I just found out that my high school best friend's boyfriend got a job at the Israeli consulate. I'll be using my thornhill jewish privilege to work this one no doubt.
I have two papers an an exam to go before I leave for Europe on the 12th. Won't be going out much...
But I am going to to Targay on Thursday. And i will be picking up some veggie corndogs for my one and only. xo
