Vorbei! It's over!
Yes my time of crap is over! The Premier of Fintenzauber was on Sunday at 6pm. Surprisingly enough, about 500 people attended the performance. It will be interesting to see how many come to the proceeding five over the next two months. . . . not to mention the two in Luxembourg in 2007.
The composer of the opera was very pleased with the result. . and with me. yay! He wants my contact details. . whether or not anything will come of this is hard to tell.
It is a custom for the Premiere of an opera to give Premiere Presents. . just a little note saying "Toi toi toi" with perhaps some chocolate, trinket etc. I gave everyone a packet of hot chocolate mix, because my character is retarded for hot chocolate. And, to the director, the note: "I have learned a lot from this production." Needless to say, he will know the meaning. Needless to say, given his personality, he will actually appreciate it.
Without further adieu, here is a photo of me in the opera. This was taken on Wednesday. By Sunday the costume had changed just slightly, in that two more buttons of the blouse are undone, showing the black bra. Also, one layer of the skirt was taken off, making it a total mini. Then, instead of the chestnut/black/pink wig below, please imagine a short blonde one with black thick highlights.
In other words, picture the whole thing more whorish and younger, and you'll get the idea. On Friday I was extremely pissed and said to colleage "What do they want? A 14 year old whore?"
Colleage: Certainly. The director, composer and librettist are all old men.
