Summary: A favorite movie of mine is coming onto DVD now, which led to this. I don't think I need to explain much about it. Once you catch on and know the story, you'll know how things go down. If you don't know, haven't ever seen it, or were just entirely sheltered as a child; just follow along for the ride. We're turning a classic fairy tale into something much more. ;)

The beast prowled back up the stone staircase, off to the upper level dungeon where the boy had been left behind. A permanent scowl was etched on his face when noticed one of his servants waiting in the indentation of the wall. John lit up a section of the dark stair way, so it was hard to miss him.

"Master?"

"What?!" The beast snapped, baring his teeth at his servant. John's eyes widened nervously before he shook it off and began to speak. Fiddling with his flames, his eyes down at them.

"Since the boy is going to be with us for quite some time, I was thinking that we could move him to a more comfortable room."

The beast growled this time, blowing hot air at John that nearly extinquished his flames. With a huff, the beast moved past him. John laughed nervously, "Then again, maybe not?"

Slamming the door open, Beast moved back into his upper dungeon chambers. The boy was sitting over in the corner, looking out the window beside him. When he heard the beast return though, his head whipped over in his direction. Without a visible ounce of fear, Cody glared darkly at him with what also looked like a pout.

"You didn't even let me say good-bye!" Cody shouted at him angrily, his fists clenched tightly beside him. Turning his head away to look down at the floor, Cody grumbled softly to himself. "I may never see him again and I didn't even get to say good-bye..."

Frowning, Beast scratched behind his ear with one of his claws. Pursing his lips together, he started to turn. His words were soften softly. "I'll show you to your room."

Eyes widening in surprise, Cody looked up at the beast with a confused expression. He shook his head slowly, "My room? But I thought-"

"Well do you want to stay in the tower?!" Beast impatiently snapped at the boy, finding his lip curve into a snarl.

"No."

His voice even made the beast's expression soften from aggravated to just simply annoyed. He sounded so innocent. So genuine. So...perfect. Beast sighed warily, "Well then follow me."

Cody scrambled up to his feet and quickly followed after the beast. He wanted to get out of the tower. It didn't matter how dangerous of a place Beast could be leading him to. Hell, that thought didn't even cross his mind. The tower was dark, digusting, and cold as shit.

Gothic was an understatement. As Beast led him down a series of massive halls, Cody examined his surroundings. Gargoyles were hoisted above him at nearly every corner of the manor. All of them squatted down, baring their ugly faces at him and looking as if they were about to pounce on their prey. Shaking his head, Cody decided it would be a better idea to stare down at the floor rather than scare his wits even more.

Beast glanced over his shoulder at his newest prisoner, seeing Cody's eyes barely open while he gazed down at the floor. Snorting out a sigh, he turned his icy blue eyes forward again. John was currently held in his hand, lighting the way through the dark home.

"Say something to him." The candle spoke firmly to his master.

Beast nodded a fraction of an inch, mumbling something quietly to himself. He looked over his shoulder again and cleared his throat. "I...I hope you like it here."

Glancing at John, he frowned when his servant made a motion for him to keep going on. His ice blue eyes darted back to the raven haired boy behind him. "The castle is your home now so you can go any where you like. Except the west wing."

That got Cody's attention up off the floor. "Why? What's in the west-"

"It is forbidden!" The beast snapped with a low growl, stopping in his steps and turning at Cody. The younger man frowned and intimatedly backed up away from the beast a few steps. His lower lip stuck out subconsiously into an angry pout.

Not able to snap again at an expression like that, the beast huffed and swept his cloak around him. He began forward again, his claws muted against the carpet that was laid on the marble floors. His ears picked up the little footsteps of Cody trailing behind him.

Getting to a large set of doors, Beast opened the door wide enough for Cody to enter and himself to stand in the door way. His eyes watched Cody, seeing him cautiously walk into the dark room. His own voice spoke softly, "Now if you need anything, my servants will attend you."

"Invite him to dinner! Invite him!" John hushed a whisper into the beast's ear.

"And...you will join me for dinner!" Beast spoke, a little bit too loudly and forcefully to be kind. "That is not a request!"

Slamming the door behind him immediately, Beast's senstive ears could hear the boy's gasp and an angry kick at the door.

Beast sighed and closed his eyes in regret. It had been too long for him. Sweeping a woman or man off of their feet would be but a simple matter years ago. But now? He couldn't even look at someone without seeing the fear in their eyes.

In his hand, John rolled his eyes and drawled on sarcastically. "Smooth. Real smooth, your highness."

The whimsical music of the corner piano filled the tavern. But the quaint music only worsened Hunter Helmley's mood. The man slammed his half full beer mug against the table with a scowl.

"Who does he think he is?! That boy has tangled with the wrong man! No one says no to Hunter Hurst Helmsley!"

"That's right!" Shawn chimed in, going over to the table with his own beer.

"Dismissed, rejected, publically humiliated! Why it's more than I can bear!" Hunter exclaimed, downing the rest of his beer with ease.

"More beer?" Shawn offered from his seat across from his friend. It wasn't an equal friendship obviously, but it still was one to the smaller blonde man.

"What's the point?" Hunter sighed dramatically. He rest his elbow on the table, putting his cheek in his opened hand. "Nothing helps. I've been disgraced, Shawn."

"Who? You? Never!" The blonde assured Hunter, slamming his hand down on the table. "Hunter, you've got to pull yourself together!"

Hunter only snorted from his nose, adverting his eyes to elsewhere in the tavern. They ended up falling upon his numerous awards, trophies, pictures, and the heads mounted on the wall that had been shot by himself. But what did it matter? What did all of his success amount up to if he couldn't even get the damn boy that he wanted?

"Ya know, it disburbs me to see you like this." Shawn told him. "Look around. Every single guy here wishes to be you, even in your darkest hour."

"I suppose..." Hunter murmered, his eyes sweeping over all the pathetic town drunks that were chugging down their drinks.

"You Suppose? It's true! There's no one in town who's admired as you. You're everyone's favorite guy! It's not every hard to see why." Shawn continued, patting the other man's arm.

"What I wouldn't pay to have muscles like that!" Some nearby drunk called out.

Another joined in, "No one around is as sly either!"

It was then that Hunter Helmsley's ego grew about twice in size. If that was even possible. A smirk made its way over the man's face as he puffed out his chest smugly. "Shawn! Get another round of beers."

"That's the spirit!" Shawn grinned, jumping up from his seat at the order. The skinny man scrambled over to the counter to get two more beers for him and his companion.

Just then, the tavern's door collided open. A grief strucken Dusty Rhodes ran into the bar, gasping for breath. As if he had just ran an entire marathon race. "Help! Please, help!"

"Dusty?" Someone called out in question.

"Please! Someone's got to help! He's got him!" The old man ran around the cavern, flailing his arms and grasping onto shirt collars of random men. "He's got him locked in the dunegon!"

"Who?"

Cody!" Dusty Rhodes shrieked out his answer, his wild eyes scanning over the confused faces of the other man. "We must go now! There's no time to lose!"

"Whoa, whoa! Slow down there, Dusty." Hunter called over the old man's babbling, slowly standing up from his seat with a cocked eyebrow. "Now who's got Cody locked up in a dungeon?"

"A beast!"

Now he was holding back a laugh. Hunter smirked as he inquired with a snort, "A beast?"

"Yes! A horrible and hideous beast!" Dusty told him, silent now as he glanced around the cavern.

Silence. Pure silence as everyone digested the man's words.

Suddenly, everyone had broken out into rounds of laughter and mockery of Dusty Rhodes' twisted tale. Frowning defeatedly, Dusty jumped when someone came up behind him and held their coat out.

"Is it a big beast?"

"Oh yes! He's huge!" Dusty frantically nodded.

"With a long, ugly snout?" Someone else ridiculed.

"Horribly ugly!"

Soon the cruel misbelievers were crowded around Dusty, pushing him around their small circle. Each sneering out a question about the beast before pushing him.

"Does he have sharp claws?"

"And large, disgusting fangs?"

"Was he covered in filthy fur?"

"Yes, yes, yes!" Dusty stammered out, trying to constantly regain his balance. The circle opened up at one side as Dusty was pushed towards it, the old man fell onto his knees. Looking up, he saw a pair of feet in his face. Those that belonged to Hunter. Dusty desperately looked at him, trying to get back up to his feet. "Will you help me?"

"Alright, old man. We'll help you." Hunter answer, aiding in picking Dusty up.

"You will?" Dusty grinned hopefully, thoughts of getting his son back filled his head. "Oh thank you! Thank you!"

But before he knew what was even going on, Dusty found himself hoisted up by his arms by two men and dragged across the tavern. Without a chance to tell them to release him, Dusty was tossed out the doors and outside into the snow storm that was going on. It was the first day of spring, but winter still was around them.

"That crazy old, Dusty!" One of the men who tossed Dusty out chuckled, wiping off his hand. "He's always good for a laugh."

Hunter took in that comment, sitting back down in his chair. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully, a devious smirk making its way onto his face. "Crazy old Dusy, huh?"

Biting his lip, the gears in mind began turning and whizzing about. "Crazy old Dusty.... Shawn, I'm afriad I've been thinking."

"A dangerous past time." Shawn told him, curiously watching Hunter for the penny to his thoughts.

"That crazy old man is Cody's father. His insanity is only so-so. See, I promised myself that I'd marry Cody Rhodes. Now I've gotten a plan for that to happen positively." Hunter smirked and began to whisper into Shawn's ear, who leaned in to hear what was going on.

"Yeah and then we-" Shawn grinned, Hunter continuing to whisper the scheme into his assistant's ear.

"No, which we should-"

"Shhh, shhh. Listen-" More whispering on Hunter's part as he hushed Shawn so everyone wouldn't hear.

"Yes! Now I get it!" Shawn cried in glee, beginning to laugh to himself eagerly.
