The current slant on the election is that Donald Trump won because Hillary Clinton didn't run a good campaign.
Talk about blaming the victim! You can't pin the election of Donald Trump on the Democrats. The GOP owns him now, baby. Democrats didn't vote for him. And Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, as has been mentioned before, but will have to continue to be mentioned because the majority of Trump supporters actually believe Trump won the popular vote.
It's a fact-deficient world in Trumpland, but we can not afford to live there. We don't want to live there. It is dangerous to live in a fact-deficient world.
These same people will make the argument that this was a referendum on Barack Obama. I know, funny, hysterically funny, but they will make that argument.
He won both of his elections DESPITE voter suppression and the fact that his middle name is the same as America's Enemy #1 (who he fucking got rid of) and the fact that he's Black and the fact that the GOP showed such obstruction that he was unable to do as much as he and we would have liked.
If he could have run for a third term, he'd have won easily. Handily. And EVERYONE knows it.
So when folks compare Clinton's votes to Barack Obama's, remember--it wasn't that she was a bad candidate.
It's that he was JUST THAT GOOD.
