Christian watched the pancakes as they browned, flipping them over when he thought the bottom was cooked well enough, then setting them aside when they’d finished.. He heard the door bell ring and sighed, turning off the burner and wiping his hands of on the tea towel thrown over his shoulder, going to see who was at the door. He tilted his head when he noticed Jason through the window, wondering why he hadn’t just let himself in this time. He went to open the door and sighed to himself when he found he’d forgotten to unlock it. Christian unlocked the door, and pulled it open.

“Sorry, thought I’d unlocked it.” Christian apologized, letting him pass after his usual hug, simply pulling Krista into a one armed squeeze before letting her pass.

“Where’s everyone at?” Jason asked, glancing around.

“Riley’s so hung over it’s funny, the J’s are in Vancouver, and Steve’s around here somewhere…” Christian notified.

“What about Mikey?” Jason asked as Christian pushed the door closed.

“Not even God knows where he is.” Chris laughed, heading back to the kitchen.

“Pancakes?” Krista asked when she noticed what was on the counter.

“Why not?” Chris shrugged, going back to his cooking.

“Just a tad strange to invite people over for a pancake dinner.” Krista mumbled, seating herself on the barstool at the island.

“Nah.” Chris said after a second of thought. “Inviting people over for dinner and serving ice cream and Captain Crunch is strange.”

“Mikey?” Jason asked, even though he already knew the answer.

“Who else?” Steve asked as he came into the kitchen, stepping up behind Christian automatically, and resting his chin on his boyfriend’s shoulder.

“Are you sure this is going to work?” Christian whispered in Steve’s ear.

“Trust me, Jason’ll tell you almost anything once he has a full belly.” Steve assured just as quietly.

“How many did you eat?” Krista asked as she finished her last bite, giving her husband an amused look.

“Oh you know, one, or two, or nine.” Jason sighed, leaning back in his chair and resting his hand on his engorged stomach.

“Nine?” Steve asked around a laugh.

“His pancakes are amazing.” Jason explained, “and now I don’t think I can move.”

“Way to go, Einstein.” Krista snorted.

“Woo.” Jason cheered sarcastically.

“So…” Chris started after a minute of silence, “Steve tells me you’re more of a Superman dork than I know of.”

“Hu?” Jason asked, looking up at him, then turning his gaze to his wife, “what did you tell them?” He asked in a small voice.

“I didn’t tell anyone anything. It was all Captain Jack.” Krista laughed, holding her hands up in surrender.”

“He can’t talk!” Jason pointed out.

“Yeah, but he did manage to get in the hamper and parade around with your Superman underwear.” She explained, laughing harder at his blush.

“Stupid dog.” Jason grumbled to himself, “where the hell was I and why he was Steve there?” He asked.

“Steve came over to watch the game with you. You, as usual, consumed an impressive amount of food and beer, then went into a food coma on the couch.” She told him. “Calm down, it’s not like they know anything else.”

“Don’t.” Jason warned.

“Okay, Superman, Lois Lane won’t tell them anything else.” She said innocently.
