Like ourselves, it appears Villa have been hit pretty hard with injuries, though the players listed as possible outs for this match may be having their injuries grossly exaggerated as we know clubs often play mind games before a big match.
I am left wondering why the sudden increase in Achilles injuries. If we look at this match we have Ballack returning from an Achilles problem and Aston Villa are possibly (hopefully!) missing Richard Dunne, James Milner and Emile Heskey, all of whom are listed as having Achilles problems. Bizarre no?
Last time we played Villa we outplayed them and yet we lost. It was a really frustrating day and our finishing was off and our defending of set pieces was poor. Here's hoping we can and will make amends at The Bridge this weekend and then again on April 10 at Wembley in the FA Cup.
