Heal the World

Each morning, the students in my elementary school would be gathered in the gym to say the Pledge and do some sort of learning activity. The morning meetings would end with the whole gym-full of students singing "Heal the World" by Michael Jackson, the CD playing crudely over the loudspeaker. This was in 1992 in suburban Worcester, MA, and we're talking well over 1,000 students. I don't remember it all that clearly, but I think there was some sort of sign language we'd do with it, and I definitely remember a poster with the Earth on it, covered by a band-aid. Doing a Google search, I see that's the cover art for the single.

I hadn't thought about this since I left that school, and was only reminded of it today in all the Michael Jackson commotion.
